Seed starter trays>4" sq plastic>1gal nursery>3 gal nursery>5 gal bucket. I don't clean anything, just knock out any left over dirt.

Lately I've been thinking this is the way to go if watered properly, from rooted cutting to final pot, at-least with the fast rooting of coco etc. I've read so many little things here an there such as not disturbing microbes, allowing roots to grow at full pace unrestricted, no additional transplant stress etc. @Dr. Who please shoot me down if I've ventured the wrong path?.

I make my own... either a traditional plastic pot but with holes, big ones w a 1" paddle bit, everywhere to point i dont want to weaken it anymore, or for smaller ones i use milk crates or baskets from the dollar store, small desk size ones in lue of beer cup up to their clothes hamper size. I then line em with weed block fabric like u put inder mulch outside. I use coco and its great, and the containers are cheap and the fabric lining makes up potting a cinch...

Yeah I have a drill and plastic pots 5 & 7 gallon size that's a lot of holes!

clone in plugs > 1/2 gal plastic pots in nursery > 1gal once topped > 3gal at veg week3 > up to 5gal only if vegging over 8 weeks. This is being economical with effort and soil used.
A soldering iron pops some very clean holes real quick into all my pot sizes for aeration without spilling any medium into my trays. Roots are always grateful.

Yea its a lot of drilling, thats why for smaller sizes I just switched to baskets or crates. But for a big container I can't find a cheep basket that big, so for my 15-25 gallon pots I take the drill to em... Definetly a post-puff project!
Ruwtz-thats a great idea too! That would be a good suggestion for somone whos already planted and having drainage problems...

After trying almost every pot available. 100% the rootball from a fabric pot is unbeatable. It is an amazing different the root you get from fabric pots.
There downside is transplanting from them sucks, to defeat that, I go straight from solo cup to 2 gallon smart pots. Grow 4' plants in 2 gallons of coco and the rootball at the end is solid, I dont get how it doesnt push all the coco out of the pot actually lol
Airpots are also very good, but there cost is just to much. I buy my 2 gallon fabric pots for $1 each and at that price they are disposable, although they are definetely re-useable if you wanted to
If youve only ever used plastic pots, do yourself a favour and try atleast one plant in a fabric pot (peferably HydroFarm brand if possible)

I'm going to have try coco what brand name is that? I've order some fabric pots but I didn't get the Hydofarm's smart pot is it?

The bogan variant is to use a milk crate and some shade cloth. Holds 25L of soil no worries.
