It seems that the Philadelphia police department is no fan of BLM, and that shouldn't be surprising considering the protests that are starting to emerge in that city over another shooting of another black man by a police officer.

The president of the Philadelphia police union responded to Black Lives Matter activists demanding accountability for the police killing of a black man by calling the group a “pack of rabid animals.”

Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police President John McNesby made the statement Thursday during a rally held by and in support of police, according to NBC Philadelphia. The “Back the Blue” rally was in response to a protest the week before by members of Black Lives Matter held outside the house of Officer Ryan Pownall, who fatally shot a David Jones in June

Pownall, a 12-year veteran, shot Jones in the back as he fled from a traffic stop. Police said Jones was armed with a gun. This marks the second time Pownall has shot a black man in the back as he was fleeing. In 2010, he shot Carnell Williams-Carney who ran from cops while having an illegal gun on him.

OK, the guy shot apparently had a weapon, so I sort of can understand the need for deadly force (in the back?), but my bitch is the head of the police officers union calling the black protesters a bunch of animals.

What's up with that?

There were no arrests made or property damage, so why where they "rabid animals" ?

Nice way to calm tensions in Philly.

Nah you don't shoot two black guys in the back fatally and call it a coincidence. It is a pattern. Bootlickers are so worried about due process in regards to this cop's career while people are dying. Having a gun and running away does not warrant a death sentence. I don't care about this guy's career, he should be off of the street. His way of enforcing the law is not what the community approves of. It is better to have an obstacle on his career than to see him kill again. His life was obviously not in danger. The man was running away not making life threatening moves. Doesn't deserve to die.

Your right about coincidences. What are the odds of the same police officer shooting TWO black men in their backs fatally in a span of 7 years?

That cop is a problem it seems to me, and I hope he had a body camera to prove it was justifiable, which sounds like a stretch considering the only shots fired were by the cops, into David Jones's back.
Shooting fleeing black men in the back seems to be an ongoing problem in this nation, maybe some retraining is in order nationwide, because this shit has to stop.
It has been going on for too long, and that is why BLM, matters.
Enough is enough.

Open carry is legal in Philly, so the "he had a gun" excuse is getting a little overused, no?

Sorry, I forgot the Bill of Rights doesn't apply when the person is black.

I don't think it's about training imo. Can you train someone not to be a sociopath? Because that's the problem. Someone that has even an ounce of decency would not shoot someone in the back while they're running away.

Cops become cops because they're dick swinging, power hungry sociopaths. Not all, but a good majority of them are. If they can get away with gunning down a black man who is posing no threat, they will do it. What we need are some new laws, and some accountability in the court system. Convict a few of these fuckers and watch how quickly things change. Unfortunately I don't see either of those things happening, so the status quo will continue...

Good point, and one of the things that should happen, at least by now, is to really do a thorough psychological evaluation of the candidates, with a lie detector, before they arm these individuals and send them out onto the streets.
Right now most police officers take a 2 year course in Criminal Justice, walk into the city of choice, are hired, get a gun and walk out, armed and dangerous.
