Does anyone have any idea how long it takes a seed to form and mature after pollinating ?
I also heard this too, but I did read somewhere on this site where a guy was saying he used fresh seeds just pulled from a female and they germinate fine . No dry time at all. From calyx to germinating. So I don't know how true this is any more if it can be done with no dry time. But I really have no idea. Just going by what others have posted about.Seeds need to dry for about a month before they will germ prpoerly..
I know this is old, but I just pulled my fem seeds and then put them in a water bottle for 24 hours, then paper towels for 18 hours and all of the 25 seeds germinated; pretty happy with life ahah just sad I have no space for all thoseI also heard this too, but I did read somewhere on this site where a guy was saying he used fresh seeds just pulled from a female and they germinate fine . so seed from calyx to soil is possible but...you can increase your germ rate if the calyx has dried - telling you the seed has developed fully. I have found that if I germinate right away - in water 24 hours is very beneficial to soften that hard shell. even fully developed seeds will rot if that shell does not break well.I know this is old, but I just pulled my fem seeds and then put them in a water bottle for 24 hours, then paper towels for 18 hours and all of the 25 seeds germinated; pretty happy with life ahah just sad I have no space for all those
I always soak my seeds 24 hours, maybe that's why I have seen such a high germination rate? Even my seeds I get from seedsman all have popped i wouldn't be sad if one didn't but I also don't give up ahah. My buddy has had seed rot before, felt badso seed from calyx to soil is possible but...you can increase your germ rate if the calyx has dried - telling you the seed has developed fully.
