General lighting question that's been asked a million times sorry this is also a 2x4 feet stealth grow.

*Post will be further updated in a couple days if I get reponces with a light fixture I could potentially be using and unsure if it's T5 or T8 or even good enough for growing.*

Hello everyone who's interested in helping me out! I posted here today as I'm getting larger plants in my tent, CFLs might be cutting it but might not be.
Currently I have 8-10 CFLS in a close together strip using Y adapters and plugs, I would like to actually be able upgrade for good.

I would like to get HPS/MH, but the heat extraction will be the hardest part, along with the expensive bulbs...
But if I ended up getting one, 400watts or 600-1000watts dimmable?? That way i could use less watts, and when I upgrade the grow to larger tents, I could use the larger watts and no upgrades later on is this a good idea to go by?

For the main question:
I been looking at T5 growing lights as they're better than CFL by alittle, possibly even less heat, stealth, and coverage.

So I'd maybe like to get some kind T5 lights and I'm unsure if the one I'm interested in is good to buy

Or are there better ones out there under these types of lights, and nothing that's going to be to expensive, as I'd pay 225$ Or so for this light with shipping and it should be enough to cover my tent & needs

A bunch of people use T5 to Veg and flower. You should go with COBs or Quantum Boards but if that's your budget the T5s will be okay.

Don't wanna pay 300$ a light fixture and coverage is a lot less right?
If 1 QB or COB can fully cover 2x4 tent without bad results, then I could maybe do it as it's 1 light fixture and in the budget range. If I'll need 2 lights that's almost 700$+ which I don't have this minute also entering the flowering phase so a better light should give me better yields and growth.


Want to really know ultimately if this light fixture is like a good T5 light or if there are better T5 if that's such a thing

Mmmm... 300 watts of t5 is fine, it just depends on the yield and quality you are expecting. That's not a ton of light for that space.. 2 6 bulb t5 fixtures angled in an inverted V pattern would rock it.

That light looks fine, but can you find a supplier that will give you options on the color temp of the bulbs? Maybe 3 6000k and 3 2700k or something like that? Or 6 3500k

Here is how I cool my cobs.. I call it the Hammerhead Active cooled would definitely be cheaper to build.

That light can be built for a lot less money but I agree it would work well in a 4x2. I would put fans on the heatsinks because they will be running pretty hot at 100w. That's the max I'd spend 400$ but I just don't know what ones to buy. I'd wanna have 3500k, also I'm also needing to keep heat down, I get cobs are like LED BUT, don't they slam a bunch of heat under the light even though it might be 12 inches above?

The online store has it so you can do it 6 of any, or 3 of each 2 types.
I was thinking of doing florescent tubes cause I'll get same coverage as a 4 feet line of cobs. But less yeild etc, whatever I don't care, first grow and still trying to find the light that's rights for me.
So I pay 160$ and i got lights, good for seed to harvest. Ok yields, whatever....

Or pay 380$ for cob and you know maybe better yeild. Etc.
