78F is not a problem for roots in soil, those temps are pretty much optimal. If you were in a hydro bucket you might run into some root rot issues but in soil you should be golden, if you still having issues add some hygrozyme , sensizyme or cannazyme(pond enzymes) to clear those roots out.
When i transplanted the roots were good as far as i could see without tearing apart the root ball...so theres tbat...lol

I am curious about this. How much of your water spills out the sides with this many holes? I have a few pots I have added addtional holes to the sides (more than I normally do) and all I found is what when I water too much at once it just flows out the sides.

What's the soil blend? I think I've asked before. Is it aerated enough? I do this with solid pots:

Cloth pots have the same problem. That's why I don't like having a buffer at the bottom of the pot. If your medium goes all the way to the bottom, it can act like a wick & suck H2O up from the tray.

I Use perforated plastic grow bags to emulate cloth bags, very little water leaks, almost none if you water carefully. When the bags are still small I use a large container and dip them till they are wet throughout and then leave them on a drip tray. Pots and bags should idealy always be lifted off the ground.

Hardly at all. I let mine get pretty dry before watering. I water till it pools, then let it soak in, and repeat. Really, some leaks a little from the upper holes, but it's not much.

If it's so dry your getting edge gaps and you water heavily all at once, it's gonna dump out. If you do it right, it's fine.

It looks good to me. If anything, it looks like water stress. I didn't read this whole thread yet (probably should have first), but I'd consider raising EC.
