Good grow books?

Hey guys! I'm new to growing and I have the very basics down but I'd really like to learn and understand what's going on inside the plant and how it all works I know I'd learn as I grow but I'd like to know anything and everything about the plant and growing it. What would be some good books to read up on guys! Thanks and happy growing!

I found a great spot to download FREE POT BOOKS. I downloaded a grow bible first and got lots more. Books look great and complete like the real ones I have here. No web site but just a page of links. Just right click on what you want and then "Save Link As" to download so they don't open first as some are 50+ megs. They got lots. Enjoy.

There is a thread on icmag called "Coco Tree's" by a grower named DJM. This is probably the most informative thread I've ever read on growing.

Im a big fan of The Grow Boss. I haven't read his book but his You tube vids are very good. Even his roadshow vids, albeit repetitive are great to watch, i always seem to learn something.

Hey--Lucky Luke above gives a good call--that Grow Boss dude has a good practical approach to growing and is a good read---some of the problems with most grow books is they assume that we are all growing for dispenseries etc and recommend this and that costing thousands of dollars as if its of no concern to the grower which in most cases readers don't have the money to act out the authors advice. The Cervantes book some posters like is truly an excellent book, but not sure if it gets updated regularly as the original copy I read from cover to cover 15 years ago was good for the time but so much has moved on since then, if so then that's a good one.

I suggest Ed Rosenthals grow book too. Good Grow information as well as room set up and methods and plenty of scientific info as well.

did you try google?
you dont need to take notes. much of what you think will change after you equip your room likely.

Some of the best info I got was from vegetable gardening books as well as houseplant books. If you are not new to growing plants in general and have the fundamentals down then I personally recommend avoiding most " Marijuana " books. Lots of old info repeated in a new format, as well as the propogation of new and the continuance of old myths and hear say. These are my OPINIONS only not scripture no offense to anyone.

I get it. I much prefer a real book too but it's handy having a small library of the e-books for reference. The first grow book I ever got was "Grow your own Stone" by Dr. Alexander Sumach back in the mid 70s. It had a form in the middle you could tear out and send in the the Bureau of Dangerous Drugs in Ottawa to apply to grow. I sent it in and still have the letter of refusal and a couple letters from Dr. Sumach after writing him about a couple things.

I was at a thrift store where they sell books at 10/$1 and picked up Cervantes Marijuana Horticulture, The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible as one of those 10 books so got it for a dime. Highlighter markings all over the place and the guy used paper clips to mark pages of note and many had become rusty. I can't do that to a book and just use small sticky notes or slips of paper to mark pages I want to refer to often. Then I just have a bunch of tabs with titles sticking out the top of the book and it's not damaged. It's much the same as his Indoor Marijuana Horticulture Bible like the last one in your Amazon listings and I've had that one for over a decade. It came out in 2002. I'd get a brand new one if they came out with an updated version.

LOL I will probably accumulate a bookshelf over the years this is by far my favorite hobby and one day I'd like to wiggle my way into the business side of it. I'm under 30yrs old and I've had 30+ jobs and hated every one of them! I'd love to be dealing with these amazing plants for a job someday

Wish I was 30 years younger to get in on the new job opportunities in the pot economy. Like you I had a lot of jobs and hated most of them. Factory work mostly like meat packing plants, paper mills etc. I went back to school in my 30s to get a diploma in chemistry but that never got me anywhere. Sure helps with a lot of chores growing and processing pot tho.

Right, lol I've done everything from working on an oil rig to a trash truck xD I did go to school for auto mechanics and auto body/paint but didn't finish out the 2 years schooling to certify. I wouldn't want to do that everyday on someone else's vehicles lol and yea I bet your chemistry knowledge helps
