Not many trichomes week 8 flowering

Hi all, im currently growing a strawberry blue plant and recently finished a la diva plant. Im using a 900w uv blackstar hydro led light about 20 inches above canopy, heats at about 29c during day, 20c at night, humidity is about 30, have air circulation and extractor fan all going, using canna coco a and b, and also boost. Its at day 52 flowering.
My problem im having is that, with this grow and also la diva, there doesnt appear to be too many trichomes, like it is pretty frosty but not as much as should be at week 8, for example they are quite short yet have fully developed heads on them, but they dont look dank if you get what i mean.
Im using the canna coco measuring chart doing heavy feeding.
I see other grows where people are even using cfls and getting way frostier buds, is there anything i can do to increase the frost? The la diva auto went to day 61 and even that wasnt too frosty. Im ideally looking for snow like covered buds. Other than that buds are dense and fattening up nicely and the smell is beautiful!
This is my 4th grow using this led, only thing ive done diff this time is do heavy feeding not regular feeding, yet ive had no detrimental effects, no burn etc.

I'm new at this but I think excessive frostiness is related to the strain. I have two different strains in the same tent, soil and nutes and one is significantly more frosty than the other.

heavy feeding in flower will lock up halt/stall plant development, could be your fault for doing something different?

you say not many trichomes, then you say it is pretty frosty.

if you want your plant to fully express you'll have to take inventory of the resources you are shorting your plant.
like c02, humidity(30%??)/temperature(84!?wtf), feed/water habits, lighting, not up to par, some of those show me you've got n uncontrolled atmosphere=ill expressing plants. good thing is you can choose which resources you want to screw your plant out of, and it will grow to the weakest one you provide. meaning with high temps, low humidity, weak light, etc there is nothing you can add to make up for any of that, except better controls.

Thanks for the replies. Possibly a strain thing.
The heavy feeding has really benefitted the grow tbh, for example one branch has bud covered from top to bottom so i dont think its the feeding tbh. Is the humidity too low? I thought relative humidity close to harvest time was supposed to be low, higher in veg? Is the heat too much too? I always thought about 28c was ideal?
Def not lighting either as using a 900w led panel, so im thinking either a strain, temp or humidity issue.
What i mean about it being pretty frosty is its abundant and noticeable yet looking like small, close to leaf, not as developed as they should look for being in 8th week, not a frost dumping on the plant that i thought i would achieve as the led has uv light too. Hmm, hoping itl get more trichomes as it gets to week 9.
On a diff note as the strawberry blue is a 75% Sativa is it best to let it go to some amber or just cloudy? Thanks

Most likely genetics if your plant is healthy.

Do you have about a 10degree drop in temps in lights off, or are the temps quite steady day and night.
a healthy about 10degree drop in temp at night is good for trich productiion. They put up a gooey protection shield against frost damage etc. Only idea I have for you right now. Good Growing!

Adower is correct, this is most likely a genetic issue assuming plant is healthy otherwise.

It's probably genetics, i grew out 8 plants from the same batch of seeds and two of them didn't frost up near what the others did. I'm going to agree with the others, genetics.

I have been scouring the forums for an answer to something similar along these lines. I have one plant that seems to be lacking or lagging in trichome development. At about what week of flower do trichomes start getting noticeable, like very apparent? When do they first start to develop? I forgot to take notes and am not exactly sure which week I'm in (DOH!). I think it is at least week 3, the buds are filling in decently, I am guessing I am still 5-8 weeks away from being ready (maybe even more), this is from seed that came in a variety pack so I can't even guess about genetics/strain. All I know is it's from Ace seeds.

As some have said, it's all about genetics my friend, genetics and phenotypes. As some have said you can grow out many seeds from the same batch, same strain, and some will look very different in many ways, (not just trich production)

But if it helps, I'm 23 days into flower with 8 plants 5 different strains. 2 of them I could see trich production as early as 9-10 days on my leaves directly closest to where buds will/are forming... You can start to see them as early as 7 days, but at that point they are nothing more than a spec that you can once and a while catch a glint of rainbow color when the light hits it just the right way (similar to a raindrop).. but besides a little flash of color / light you can't really see them with naked eye...... they will start to resemble full trichs after about 10 days (being able to see with naked eye easily and from a distance starting to look frosted)

So two of them started frosting up super early, and are now verrrrrry frosty looking BUT one of my other plant STILL has yet to show any real trich production. Very discouraging when all of your other plants are completely frosted, and one of them has next to nothing on it.

But idk, trichs aren't everything. They don't always equate to potency... Sure they look pretty but sometimes they just piss you off because you think you're gonna visit the moon, and you barely get off your couch.. Some of the best sativas to ever exist aren't very pretty, and aren't loaded..

My last grow was super frosty and I didn't watch them near as close as I am now.

Well it's the truth, where do you think the term "pretendica" came from its used to describe pot that looks phenomenal but the high doesn't match the looks

But it's also proven fact, just because you have lots of trichomes does not mean they are all loaded with THC and cannabinoids..... there are in fact 3 different types of trichomes and only one of them has the good stuff

As I said, trichs do not always equal potency. With all the dispensaries and testing going on, you often see heavily sugared buds test lower in THC concentrations than other less pretty buds. Just because you have MORE of them doesn't mean they are all producing heavy THC.

There are too many very very potent strains (sativas anyone?) that don't have heavy resin / trichs production, but are incredibly potent.

Of the 8 plants I have now, 7 of them were pushing out trichs visibly (and when I say visibly, I'm only speaking of a tiny little glint of rainbow light, just as the light catches it the right way, similar to a rain drop, snowflake, diamond etc) all within the first 10 days... by week 2 I could see them with naked eye(albeit small, but visible none the less )...and they were loaded..very dense areas of them


*BUT* one of the phenotypes had no sign of ANYTHING until recently ... so that puts it almost at the 3 week mark.... so every plant is different. And even tough the trichs just start showing up much later than the others, you'd expect it to still be far behind, but surprisingly they are filling in really fast and catching up
