Cambodian + Z Strain, Coir Monotubs

Using popcorn as spawn, noc'd up 10 jars of each. Once colonized I, do g2g from one jar, for spawning new grain for future tubs. Substrate is straight coir, not rinsed or amended, nothing fancy just pasteurized. I spawn at about a 1:2, spawn to substrate ratio, I mess around with a few different spawning teks, I'll go into that another time. Things are chugging along with the Cambodians, the Z took forever to germinate and the grain had practically dried when it finally did, thus crazy slow colonization. G2g in fresh grain and they're coming along. I also have PE 6, Albino A+, and Transekei - African ( saw an old thread here googling good cube strains, ANC recommended them) on the way, so it will be an eventful thread.

First flush, the only tub putting out so far although 2 other's now have pins, gonna be awhile longer for Z Strain fruits

ive never heard a good thing about popcorn as sub but good luck, things seem to be sorta going okay. I thought monotubs were kinda meant to fruit more simultaneously? hard to tell from pic but looks to me like you would have been better off waiting to expose to fruiting conditions. But ive never done a tub before, but I plan to do many soon once ive consumed enough literature on the subject. Multispore spawn,@ the flushes arent as uniform as with cloning, I'll be getting into that soon enough. I dont fruit until i see pins that bigger one was just ahead of the rest. Im no expert and still am working things out a bit, but I have gotten good flushes with just coir and corn. This is the first tub(s) in a few years so I'll have some kinks to work out

Did you let the tub turn white befor kicking into fruiting? aaprox 15 days of dark and sealed for c02..

No need to colonize in darkness, never had premature pinning from light exsposure alone. I have some jars pretty well colonized, I'll go over what i do. I try out different things with different tubs, give it time things will shape up

I dont bother with a meat thermometer anymore, just trust its right after so many times

I prepare the coir adding water to a brick until it is thoroughly broken down, no chunks. Gentley squeeze handful a few drips will run out, and the coir will clump together easy. These are ways to tell your around the right moisture content, then fill jars and pastuerize

Z Strain, first flush. never to dissapoint, not sure why its adverised as a fast colonization and fruiter, one of the slowest I've dealt with
