You forgot some kind of reflective material : Mylar/panda film..

Also check out about Carbon filters. They will definitely help with the smell, you can make one yourself for about $30.

Well, one thing I can think of. Are you using a grow box or anything? Because a grow tent might be nice. A bigger size grow tent.

and it depends on how many seeds you want to sprout how many plants youll be growing at one time, how many pots (look into grow bags) good alternative to pots

Also are you just buying bulbs? If you dont already have them you will need some ballasts which will greatly increase your costs.

High quality fem seeds can be $100 or more for 12.
Electric Co2 regulator, $150 used, $250+ new

Exhaust fans will start around 150 each for the size you will need, then you will also need smaller fans, prolly 100-150 for enough for airflow and keeping those damn ballasts cool.

1k is a tight budget but it should get you started, just break it down, decide what you absolutely need first, then get that.


Its really hard to give a real quote, I just set up my place, only 3 1000w lights, plus everything else I needed and Im well over 4k so far and I still need more duct fans for my air cooled hoods.

Anyways good luck, dont blow your budget on stuff you wont need yet, you dont want to have half a big grow that isnt functional, better to start small then upgrade once you get things vegging and functional.

I think most of my estimates are on the low side and only includes about 80% of what you'll need. Also this doesn't include ANY lumber, tools or supplies for building your room(s).

If you've got 1 grand you're going to have to start small and build. Get a 4 foot fluorescent system and a single 400w switchable HID system to build around.

Then you've never done it. I'm building a room with the exact hardware he's describing (2, 600w HPS, 1 400w MH and 1, 4ft T5.) It will cost me about $2500 when it is all said and done.

Why don't you go to HTG.com and find out. It is all automated and they will keep track of it till your ready to order. It is the cheapest way to go. You won't beat there price anywhere! It beats guessing. For a lot of the items you can go to E-bay and if your patient you can really cut cost. I built my whole grow room off e-bay over the years even lights. Iam buying a new light for my next grow and will buy from HTG for convience and they ship with our stealth in mind. Plain packages and no excessive writing to tip people off. Good luck

hey man id say just grab one of the sweet deals at the htg supply, like 350 and you get so much shit including a light so youd have all that cash left over for your co2 and possibly another light if you feel so inclined...go to high tech garden supply and click on the grow kits and check em out, personaly id go with the dirty dozen they come with

Yeah you could beat that. Why waste money on stuff you really dont need. If you have space, at least 5x5 to flower, than definitely go with 1000wHPS light to flower, you will be much, much, much, much, much, happier when its time to harvest.
