Can i transplant my seedling in ffof soil?

I transplanted into a 1g pot like y'all said. Can I get a guesstimate on how long till I go from this 1g to a 3g?

By the time the roots have fully filled the pot the plant will likely be 2/3 larger than the pot itself.

In other words. When it looks too big transplant.

And check out the roots so you know what to expect when you transplant it.

Seedlings don't have to grow slow. I think I can catch up in size to any cutting from a seed in 2 to 3 weeks.

My plant is doing good. I know it hasn't even been a week, but I feel like it's time to transplant again. Also, this plant is only shooting out five blades. My previous (first) plant went 1, 3, 5, 7, 9. Is it bc I have it in a 1g pot? That's the only thing I'm doing different. I started my first plant in a 3g (from seed) and transplanted once into a 10g pot. Lmk what y'all think. Anyways, here's a current pic. Thanks in advance!!

I can't see how tall she is but looks like it should go weeks longer in that pot. No need to transplant if you aren't going to let them develop a full right root ball.

I thought when the leaves start passing the sides of the pot, thats when it was time to transplant. Thanks for correcting me and teaching me something new. I will leave in pot for another two weeks then. Btw, she's six inches tall. Thanks again, bud.

Not correcting. Just suggesting.

I like to see the plant is 2/3 bigger than the pot and plenty of roots in the drainholes.

Also I want the plant to lift right out by the stem. Will be strong enough if it has a fully developed root ball. I just squeeze the pot to release the friction of the roots and pull it right out when ready.

How do watering methods cause burning? I'm afraid of putting small clones right into ocean forest. How can I prevent burning with my water?
I mix the soil real well with about 25% large perlite. Making sure all the clumps are broken up to avoid concentrations of guano or crab meal and such.

I also test ph a few days after doing this to be sure but it is always about 6.3 ph with the runoff method.

For cuttings I stick the stem of the clone about 4" into the soil and water in the plastic 16 oz party cups with good drainage holes cut into them to a good runoff to get the perlite dust out and saturate the new soil. Also to runoff some unneeded nutes at this stage nutes from the soil.

For seeds I do the above first then make a little hole with a pencil and drop my taprooted seed in and cover it up.

Overwatering drowns the roots and they can't properly uptake so you can get necrotic lower leaves and tips from the deficiencies. With clones and seedlings this is very easy to do. Damaged roots equals damaged leaves.

Also with too frequent watering you activate more nutes to be available to the plant as well as wash away some of them.

I like to wait until the cup or pot is very dry and light. Then re saturate the pot to runoff. This gives the roots time to search and explore the whole pot for a fuller root ball.

Takes a week usually in the beginning and when it gets down to 3 days or less I transplant up.

Hope this all helps :-)

I hope this helps as well. Every time I've tried potting up I feel like its never gone well. I can easily put a solo cup plant into a 5 gallon and take off right form there, but when I throw smaller pots into the mix, I never do well transplanting for some reason. Hope it goes better next time.

It took some practice with me but I see no stress anymore. I like to have a good enough root ball to lift the plant right out by the stem. It is usually 2/3 bigger than the pot its in.

Good luck! When I got it all right my yield doubled.

Beautiful, healthy plants. I can see the difference in growth between your plant and mine. I already have a bag of ffof and Perlite laying around, so I'm going to try the same method as you. I always here it burns seedlings, but you seem to be doing fine. Gonna find out for myself!

Thank you.

I have not done much. I have learned to leave them be mostly.

They are growing under t-5 fluorescents. The smaller seedlings have only been watered in before planting and have been left alone for a few days.

The larger ones are 2 weeks old and have been top filled back to the top of the party cup (see the space on the younger ones cups) and watered gently to runoff and then only one more time since then. Takes about 5 days to a week to dry out in my tent at first before roots get established.

Just some more info. Hope it helps. :-)

Ffof is way too hot for a seedling.

Id go peat & cocoa... OR something super mild like black gold or happy frog.
That's def absolutely not true..idk how many ppl have actually tried planting into it...I have.and they were the best plants in ever grew...and just so you know it was stronger than of...it wasoff planting mix..some light warrior..and o.f... moonshine mix that I adjusted..I even fed them a lil once they hit the height I wanted to start topping them at
