My tweaker roomate has one. It's name is Squirt bc when it gets excited it loses control over its bladder. So when I moved in here six months ago the little fucker wouldn't come out of my roommates room. It hid under the blanket when he went to work and it doesn't bark. Ever. It too was either abandoned and or abused and I've tried over the months to befriend the little rat but it ain't interested. I'll cook bacon or hamburger and put some in his dish. I'll go ino James' room when Squirt is alone and sweet talk to it and pet him. He must've been through quite a rough time.Chihuahuas are a very loyal and demanding dogs, pretty smart too, they need a lot more attention then any other breed iv had, I hated them before I got hamlet from my brother, he adopted her and eventually moved somewhere he couldn't have a dog so I took her, she has abandonment issues tho cause her previous owners just left her in a apartment and took off, but once you have one you'll love em, they are yappy little shits tho anytime the doorbell goes off or a doorbell on tv or even anything that resembles a door bell and they go insane
Yea that's sound like a wawa, they love theyr guardians so much that other people just don't matter to them it seems which isn't like most breeds...but I don't look at my dog a a accessory or comfort or anything other than my furry friend, she loves to go for car rides and being out in the world, sometimes when I'm leaving and I'm not gonna take her she'll dart out the door and run to the car and I have to grab her and put her back in the house..so when I can take her with me I do, I don't bring the rotty around cause I don't think she'd like it very much and would be kind of a gamble if some kid comes up and pulls her tail(more like stump, she HATES when you touch her stump) or spooks her and she bites theyr face off, just not worth it, but ham has 4 teeth left she couldn't hurt anyone if she wanted to haha, she has nipped at some people that try to pet her when I'm holding her but I think that's cause she thinks she's protecting me or the person is tryin to touch me, theyr crazy territorial like that, even if my brother is sitting with her and I come to grab her to go to bed she'll bite me hahaMy tweaker roomate has one. Last week for the first time it came out when James was at work and jumped up on the ottoman directly in front of me. It was encouraging. Maybe he was warming up to me finally. But then I went and saw it had shit in James' bathroom so maybe he was just trying to tell me he needed to go out. Anyway it hasn't happened again since.
I don't hate the little rat I'm just pissed he doesn't show me the attention every other dog I've ever met does. The German Shepards at work fawn all over me. Pups, both of them. Squirt needs something I can't give him. Commitment.
I can't provide Squirt a life long home. I won't even be here by fall. I'm outty and then I'll get my own dog or cat.
I feel bad for him but his life is what it is. I didnt contribute to his fucked up pathology but I won't make it any worse either. I could never hurt an animal in anger but I've been bit by little rats like him before. I don't think it's right people carry them around like accessories. It can't be positive for the little critters. It speaks more about the owners intentions and insecurities than the dogs lovable demeanor.
I understand that animals become family. Believe me, I've had dogs since I was a child. One after the other. And it really sucks that they don't live that long. I've buried every one I've ever had.
Dogs are a true reflection of their owners personally and if the owners are fucked up the dogs personality also becomes fucked up. I also think its fucking tragic that some people will spoil the shit out of their dogs but ignore a human being being assaulted on the street. There isn't a dog that compares in value to a human being. But you'd have a hard time trying to convince most dog owners of that.
