Rabbits eating my sprouts

I'm attempting an outdoor grow this season.
I've got a pretty big veggie garden out back and was going to throw some plants in there but the dann rabbits around here are killing me they keep eating my sprouts.
Any tips short of busting out the bb gun would be appreciated

iv had this problem and chicken wire doesn't necessarily solve it... you see, if its young enough birds wont hesitate to munch it up. unnecessary overkill if you get it all wired up and netted as tight as a prisoner of war camp. safest way is to keep it indoors for 1-2 weeks then send it on its way out. just remember them slug pellets, slugs will fuck up your plant more than any mammal can, except deer.

Thanx for the reply I'm gonna grab some chicken wire see if that stops em .i got out the air rifle and grabbed some new pellets I'll shoot them if I see them it's when I'm not there or sleeping when there's a problem. Any one hear of using that spray to keep them away from the garden...

If its little sprouts ,it could be birds , I have lost more sprouts to birds than any other animal,,,,,if its rabbits cayenne powder works great ,sprinkle it around the plants and BAM the rabbits nose is burned bad it wont come back

I try to steer clear of felines mixing with my plants. Have seen endless plants eaten down to the stalk by cats.
Have also had a bunch of seedlings get cut down by a few invader mice.

Small wire cages around them buried a little, is the best route to go for rabbits.

Animals love the stuff just like we do!

I had a problem with pill bugs eating the thin layer of the plants stocks, right at the base ,then the plant dies

June in NW Florida is grasshopper season. I had to move my sprouts under screen or I won't have any left. I've had these under screen for a couple of days now. No losses since I got them moved. I found this old bookshelf and a window screen. Once they get a little size to them, the grasshoppers don't hurt them as bad.

Sorry, I'm at work and had someone in my office, so I hit post and got off the page. My point was you may be able to do something to just get you through the first couple three weeks, then the rabbits might not do you as much damage.

Good luck.
