The cheapest grow ever?

Sounds like a little weight on those branches if they're breaking/bending that much. I've had the same thing happen when pulling them out for harvest. I tend to lean them against the wall and sometimes forget they've been leaning and boom, bent at 90 degrees as soon as you move them. Sounds like you have some early testers ;)
 
Now that is a true friend ANC, a keeper. Nothing is worse than a friend that says they have your back but never show up when you need their help, even though you help them regularly. That sir is just a POSER.

A few others are leaning like crazy as well. The early tester is going to be a nice treat. I hope I can squeeze another week or two of flowering before they implode.
 
I met him years ago at a large trance party, He sat down on our magic blanket looking very dejected and pissed off with crappy pills they took.
I opened a bag of mushrooms I harvested before I left home, and said; Do you wanna get high? He eventually moved house about 200 miles and now lives 10 minutes away.

Staying in line with your thread title (cheapest grow), I'm a cheap ass, even if I have the money I'll look for ways to do something as inexpensive as possible. For support stakes have a gander through your local Dollarama or the like. it's my first go-to spot for garden supplies. Mine has bunches of 3-4ft. bamboo stakes for like $1.50 per bunch. it's where I grab most supplies, this time of year is great, just stock up as they clear the gardening stuff out by July.
 
Hey quick update on my plant, about 3 weeks from sprouting and everything looks good so far (minus a bit of stretching) and I gave my plants nutrients too early (rounded first leaves) any tips on when I can cut the top off to help keep in smaller and bush out? My temperature is around 25-29C not sure what that is in fereheight and I've been having trouble keeping my humidity about 40% also how deep can I bury my stem to help cover the stretching a bit. Also buying new soil and good nutrients any good suggestions on what to buy?

Definitely looks to me. The temps are perfect and it is 77-85F if that helps. My humidity was only 20 to start but it kept climbing gradually as the plants grew. You still have some room in the pot to top up the soil, or you can remove them and replant deeper. I used promix, but now in round two I am mixing in gardening soil. I only bought Big Bud for blooming when I flipped them to 12/12. My next step is to get some A & B. It seems to be popular with a lot of the good growers. Buckle in amigo, it is a long journey with many weeks to go. o_O

I try my best to re-purpose stuff but physical limitations force me to choose the easier route sometimes. There are definitely good savings at Dollarama, I bought my 4 inch starter pots there. Since i still have half of a bag of bamboo that I bought there, I am sure I can fashion (MacGyver) something usable.

Well I'm sorry that happened but congrats to you! So glad you've succeeded and also made your wife happy with this major accomplishment! :D Uplifting.
 
No sorry needed, It was a good thing. It opened my eyes to the fact I have nothing decent setup for drying. Now I have a bit of time to work on that before the rest are harvested. I decided to empty out on my storage cabinet and use it to hang the plants, once I manage to take it apart, take it up 2 flights of stairs and reassemble it. That should be a full day of work for me. :oops:
 
Picture updates, Day 63. Still no amber trichs but one of the plants has almost no white pistils left, mostly orange hairs and the buds seem to be tightening up.

So those broken pieces were hung to dry and 5 days later (today) I chopped the buds and jarred them. The tips had a wee bit of crisp on them but the centers were still fresh. I need to dry them just a little more. So top half of the plant the total weight of buds is 4.3g. The lower half was cut and hung two days ago so it has a bit to go yet before it is adequately dried. Also have new scissors the wife ordered for pruning.IMG_0072.JPG

Nice to see you start harvesting :) No need to dry those buds any more, the curing process (burping them daily) will get the rest of the moisture out as you cure them. Outside crispy leaves and some moisture in the core is not bad. Better than too dry or you'll lose smell/taste. Enjoy :)

OK, just burping now. I was a bit concerned that it smelled to green. Some of the other bud I have in mason jars smells much nicer. Since the other buds are smelling better each day (opened about 15 minutes every few days)I will see how mine goes over the next week. I know how crappy too dried out is since my brother makes no effort to keep it fresh. Sometimes I would by a 1/4 and knew instantly is was super dry because the amount (volume) seemed to be much more sometimes.

Yeah you don't want it wet going in but some moisture in the core is good that dries as you burp them. Worst weed is too dry or too wet going into the cure (a lot of it isn't cured at all!)
 
Well I based my decision on multiple factors. After 5 days it was possibly ready, figured the cooler basement was slowing the drying. I read several threads that talk about it just starting to crisp a bit on the tips was optimal, so I went with that. It is somewhat of a judgement call on when exactly is best, but so far I trust my judgement and the great advice here on RIU. I have bought a few elbows that were not hung properly and there was mold inside the bag. Yuck, smells and tastes like wet rotting hay (errr, what I suppose it would be like :oops:).

I think I went a day early since it smelled nicer when it was hanging. Going to go a little longer hanging time on the bottom part to see if it will make a difference. Thanks again for all your help and advice. I will be starting a new grow thread with my newly sprouted seeds. ;-);-)
