So many different variables and techniques. If you ask more specific questions you will receive answers that answere your question. 36 site clone king aerocloner 24 hr circulation under 24 hr fluorescent lighting no dome 65 deg ambient air temp. Root masses in14 days or less.

I use a bubble bucket, couple ml Calmag and Advanced Nutrients B-52. I get faster results with thicker stemmed clones.

Anywhere from 4 days to 21 days. Depending on every possible variable including strain and wattage and spectrum and and and...
@ovo I imagine using sand would have less oxygen content vs say perlite due to the size and shape of the substance. Which will play a part in the process.
I agree @Bareback ... all these fancy methods to cut root time down... what's the rush! Been prepared in advance is what matters not how many days you can shave off.

The cloners r a very useful bit of kit to have in your room.....mine's cuts my cloning time in half ...maybay more....typically I usually have roots in a week ....also....with the cloners theirs ALOT less work to contend with just take the cutting prep it for the cloner and apart from misting every now and again that's it.......perfect imo.....as for using sand,I reckon it would be less than ideal as a propagation medium,yes it would work....but put it this way.....u don't see many weeds growing on the beach.....

I am using a Rapid Rooters seed/cloning kit which includes a 7" vented domed lid. My clones (Pure Power Plant) are under this cool Phillips 60W. 'grow light' incandescent bulb, and have only been in there for a week. The fan leaves are turning yellow and I have been misting them once a day keeping it humid, am I missing anything?

Rapid rioters r one of the better ones to use.....if the leaves r yellowing but no sign of roots then I would give them a couple of light feeds.......VERY light feeds....

My personal experiences only. Vented dome and misting will eventually cause rot if they don't get roots first. Yellowing, yes its pretty normal for the lowers to yellow as energy/food sources are depleted. If you keep them misted/watered in a very humid environment they feel no need to search for water to roor for survival and sometimes become very stubborn and won't. Ditch the dome ,stop misting and keep those rapid rooters dampish moistish but not WET. I keep mine under 24 hr fluorescent and have very, very good results. My results became near 100% 100% of the time with my clone king cloner. There are all sorts and many better but this one is a work horse and cheap lol.

Ok so I want to add to this conversation. ( Keep in mind I'm not arguing or disagreeing ) I use the 72 site domed tray with vents and an t5 .
Root root cubes , clone x, and place perilite between tray and liner. I use a solution of water, ff kelp me kelp you, and super thrive , I place the solution in the perlite . I prep the clones by trimming to 4-6" ,trim leaves , split stem 5/8" , gently scrap stem , apply clone x , then I split the rooter cubes and place clone 1" deep . I place clone / cube combo in tray , I then place a single clay pellet beside the cube to squeeze the cube tite to the clone. I mist the clone every 3-4 days lightly .
Here are a few side notes.
Squeeze the water out of the cubes before you start.
Mist dome not plant once a day
Use aquarium temp gauge inside dome , the peel and stick kind.
Keep vents closed for 3 days
open vents 25% days 4-5
Open vents 50% days 6-8
Open vents 100% days 9- ........
I use RO water with a little Cal/mag.
And so far I have 100% success rate.

There are a number of variables that help determine the number of days to clones rooting. Pellets vs. cubes, heat mat or no, humidity, etc. I use 2-inch jiffy pellets in a clear dome and mat with 100% RH for my indica clones. I first see roots anywhere from Day 9 to Day 14 with my set-up.
