I have no idea. It's a cool looking bug though. As long as there's no damage anywhere on the plants. I'd let him hang out.

The webbing coming out its a$$ is hilarious.

Appears to be scale bugs ... Nasty little plants suckers.
Spray neem oil or if a light infestation- dip a Qtip in alcohol and spot aplly to them.
Neem oil or azamax can also be " Qtip " to infested sites.

That is one crazy alien looking bug right there!

In that picture, at the underside of the stalk see that little white ball, is that an egg?

I am so fascinated by what kind of bug this is I've been searching the web for the last half hour with bong in hand.

It looks like a mite of some kind, being part of the arachnid family producing silk. Pretty sure no other bug that looks like that would produce silk? hmmmmm almost a month old post...

Not my words but from a random site with info on bugs:
Scale doesn't look much like an insect, but rather some prehistoric single-shelled miniature mollusk attached to your plants.

Looks like it's guarding that little white ball egg looking thing on the underside. Crazy.

A mite centurion.

I just found the same bug on my plant today-I found a random white cluster an had no idea what it was. I found one of those guys with some of the whiteness coming from underneath. Pretty sure they are barnacles/scale bugs-from what I read they can start to weaken the plant if in big numbers/left alone. They release the honeydew syrup that can bring others in. From what I read a spray down with a single hand pressure spray should help or some insecticidal soap.
I had actually posted asking about them myself haha-fucking weird little guy that's for sure
