No it isn't. The statues can still be seen, but they no longer carry the weight of state approval. It is censorship
I'm going to guess that he's never lived in the South so he's clueless about how things are there.how is it censorship when they are actively telling people the new places where you can go see the statues of slave whippers?
btw, this is yet another reason why you will never win a democratic primary.
Why did Lincoln want Lee to lead the Union army again, tell me?
who founded the democratic party? anyone other than justin wanna step to the plate? he sucks at q & a
Slavery is a part of American history. Taking away a statue doesn't change that fact.
I disagree with all forms of censorship
So why did Lincoln want lee to lead the union army again and what was the only reason lee did not actually lead the union? Do you not know? There were a dozen generals, like Lee, from the South who'd renounce their oath of commission in the U.S. Army and fight for the Confederacy.
None of those treasonous decisions that those generals made has anything to do with the wave of monument building that went on in the South between 1890 and 1920. In fact, most of those being immortalized in monuments had long since died.
What's the problem, now the racists can have their statues out in the country at their Klan rallies while they jerk off to plotting the next race war.
Hey isn't this a little "nationalist" though? Seriously, I'm glad the csa lost the civil war but there's a secession movement in Cali due to trump. Would this movement be treasonous to you?Iv always thought it to be proper to call confederate leaders treasonous, but rarely hear it. I agree they belong in museums not still out in a park or wherever glorifying those that waged war on the United States of America.... good riddens long overdue.
Seriously, I'm glad the csa lost the civil war
So you dismiss my opinion outright on the basis of my skin color and the state I was born in?
What does a statue of Robert E. Lee stand for?
Lincoln offered Lee the position of commanding the Union army before Grant
So they become experts in racism through much practice. Nice one.
