First grow. Possibly a bit of advice.

Hey guys,

So first time grower here. Set up is a bit dodgy at the moment but got a tent coming soon. Running 2 girls under one 300w cheap LED grow light I got off Ebay. Got another one for a bit later on. Seems to be working okay so far. I've got them in a small pot which is 22" in diameter and it has a water section underneath the pot and draws the water and nutrients up. Plants seems to be green and healthy. Have tried to FIM one and topped the other after doing a bit of research and wanting to experiment a bit. I've just dropped the lights down from 24" to 16" about 4 days ago and I seem to have the lower leaves slightly curling and tips going yellow. Ph is sitting slightly above 6.5 and temp is about 26 degrees Celsius all the time and I've got a fan pushing some air through a gap I have. I've attached a few photos for your advice and anything I could be doing wrong.

These dont look bad at all your doing great, what nutrients are you using and at what strength?

Are you letting the soil dry out at all between feeds or just keeping it damp?

ph could do with being between 5.8 and 6.2 this is ideal but between 5.5 and 6.5 isn't a problem.

These dont look bad at all your doing great, what nutrients are you using and at what strength?

I'm using a seaweed solution at the moment. I think it was about 1 or 2ml per litre. I'm not exactly sure how I should be watering it and what nutrients I should be using. Also using a liquid Sulfur to slowly drop the PH level of the water. Just kinda using my garden skills and learning as I go. Have included another photo of the nutrients and liquid Sulfur. The soil was drying out when I was watering from the top of the soil but the new pots allows the plant to suck the water up. Soil seems cool to the touch but definitely not water logged. Yeah still trying to juggle the Ph and lower it slowly. Not sure exactly how to lower it and how low the liquid Sulfur will actually drop it too.

I use canna for my nutes (Currently Aqua for RDWC system) never used the products you mentioned.

When growing in soil you should water then let it dry out not so much the plant wilts but enough to let the roots breath a little. if you keep the roots damp you may end up with root rot.

When i used to grow in soil i would water from the top until it came out of the bottom of the pot then leave it until its is dry Then water again. (do not let it wilt).

Just ordered some PH up and down off Ebay then. Ah gotcha. I might just start watering from the top again then so I know it's done properly. I'm from Aus yeah.

First off soil ph should be 6.5-6.8 so you are perfect for a soil grow. For your first grow it looks beautiful. Again soil ph is perfect.

It could be nutrient burn but when i have had nute burn in the past my leaves where much darker green than yours because of the n build up. Feed them plain ph correct water for a couple of feeds see if things improve.

I think its either over watered or a deficiency, Potassium Deficiency possible? This can look like what you have as well. If it get worse after a couple of water feeds its a deficiency and you need better nutrients or a more balanced nutrient for the job.

Don't panic though like i said they don't look bad at all i have seen much worse, if your in soil have a look at canna terra range i think its called, and the base nutrients are not too expensive either.

Photo could be a little misleading. The flash from my phone really lights up the leaves and make them look a lot lighter than they really are.

I see a cloud on your horizon bud...if it were mine I'd repot the whole plant into a new mix, 86 the sulfur and water from the top. It's a tried and true method that works in nature and will work for you too.
Plain old MG or any other powder blue Nitrogen works wonders. No need to spend a lot of money. Don't overthink the grow. Purchase a small bottle of Super thrive. Its a root enhancer and I think you may have something going on with all the sulphur you used.
It's a good idea to pull the plant out of its pot and have a look at the root system. Guys don't do this enough, don't know why. A healthy root system is everything. You're looking for turgid, beefy roots not soft and mushy roots. Lots of little white root hairs, the ones that do all the cation exchanges. That's gold right there. Hmu with questions. I'm happy to help.
