I think I may have had it wrong I guess the genetically bred seeds are the ones you want to stay away from. My bad. Also that was a horrible analogy, I don't support using the word retard in any context, I must've been having a bad day or drunk or something.
Genetically bred seeds? All seeds are genetically bred.
I get what you are getting at. People think that bag seeds are inferior genetics and prone to herming out.
With bag seed it is possible for a hermaphrodite. Its possible in all cannabis seeds.
Newer studies show its not necessarily the genetics but an enzyme (can't remember if that's the correct term) that cause hermaphrodites.
It is a survival mechanism.
I spent many years growing bag and brick seed. Its still not legal where I am.
For the most part, the end product will be better than what the seed come from if grown with care.
If the bud is completely seeded then either a male or full on hermaphrodite seeded it. Its a toss up. Might be good might be bad. Even if it came from a hermaphrodite it is still only a slightly higher chance of herming.
If it has very few seeds it came from small male expression in the female plant. Either from being over ripe or a bit of stress. Those type seeds will mostly be full on female.
Now this said, I have been growing seeds from respected breeders for a number of years. I have a small setup and ran fem beans for a while just for the conveince.
I still grow bag and brick seed even though I have good genetics.
I have moved on from buying seeds to making my own crosses. I have more seeds than I will ever need.
