driver for 9 ver029 gen 7

can someone please help me out. im looking for a driver for 9 vero 29 gen 7. the ones with 69.4 forward voltage. cam someone help id really appreciate it. these are the cobs im going to purchase

no one? even if it had to get 3 drivers. 1 for eech 3 cobs i would do it. but i need an idea for a driver. and does anyone know what mA vero29's are supposed to run at?

Voltage to ground rating for Vero 29 gen 7 in series is 500v, so you can put up to 7 in theory in a series connection. Probably a good idea to stick to 6 or less. Any more than 4 and you want to use 600v rated wire. Gen 7C's forward voltage is high enough that the Meanwell HLG offerings won't work in parallel, so maybe consider 2 or more drivers, one running 4 and one running 5 cobs, or 3 drivers running 3 each. Dimmers would be wired together to a 50k ohm potentiometer or better IMO a 30k ohm resistor on a rocker switch for 2 drivers, or a 33k ohm pot or 20k ohm resistor for 3 drivers, to switch between full power and 60%.

As for which drivers, depends on the current/watts you want to drive them at individually.

700ma (45 watts each) is a good high performance option that would provide about 405 watts output (230 par watts)
1 HLG-185H-C700 and 1 HLG-240H-C700 -OR- 3 HLG-120H-C700

1050ma (70 watts each) is still good performance higher output that would provide 630 watts (327 par watts)
3 HLG-240H-C1050

1400ma (94 watts each) is dipping below 50% efficiency but would provide 846 watts (404 par watts)
3 HLG-320H-C1400

Yes. That could power up to 4 COBs if you wanted it to. If you're not going to run 4 COBs on it save yourself a few bucks and go with the HLG-120H-C700A/B.

I'm just curious, why are you set on the 69.4 v veros?

They are much more efficient than the B and D versions (50v and 36v)

im not set on them. im also looking at cxb 3590. and the HLG-120H-C700A/B is not enough wattage. this driver seems ok HLG-240H-C1050B but if i got the 240 -1400b do you think it would be better??

i was gonna go with the 69 volt over the 36 volt or whatever they are because dont they put out twice as many lumens?

Much more efficient would be running them closer to 40-50 watts per...as opposed to splitting a 240 watt driver across 3 cobs...but w/e... I run only vero 29s, parallel and in series with great success at 75 watts per cob....but certainly not efficient by cob standards, but highly efficient vs hids...

so what driver do you recommend? i just wanna replace a 600w hps at the minimum. but im trying to get the power of a 1000w hps but with cobs. i though 9 cobs vero 29 with a 240 at 2100mA the 36 volt ones. how many lumens each do you think they push out compared to the 72 volt ones?

Stick with the D's, they are more efficient even at 75 watts, A 9 cob setup running with 3 240 1050 drivers are a great setup.. will do better than a se 1000 hps without question. Generally about 600 watts of a quality cob, like a 3590 or vero 29 gen 7 will be equal if not better than a se 1000 watt hps

I run 3 vero 29 3000k 90 CRI 37.7 v per each hlg-240h-c2100b for a total of nine cobs...about 660 watts and surpassed what the 1000 watt HPS produced...with cobs its all about the PAR ... lumens are for humans...

thats exactly the same set up i was thinking of green. but im debating that . or 2 bars of 4 cobs 69 volt vero gen 7, with 240 c700 running them at 700mA which set up do you think would be better?

Check out SupraSPL's chart to make sure the max voltage will work with x amount of cobs you want to run. I went with the 2100 because I wanted to maximize the current for 3 cobs each.

Well the max voltage on the drivers hasn't changed....so if he knows what voltage cob he selects, he can figure out the rest...or you can be kind and help him out...

the chip voltage has changed (lower), so in some cases you might be able to fit more on a driver.

im not a vero guy but the datasheets and bridgelux simulator have all the answers
