you likely wont get them to grow well indoors unless you grow in an aerated fridge and provide season changes and other stuff. their just not practiced with enough to have found a mainstream repeatable growing method. except western michigan greenhouses https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/4859362. browse that thread to find a pseudo recipe they find successful and repeatable. its primarily leaf compost and sawdust i believe. then cased in soil and transferred around different temped greenhouses. bla bla bla tedious shit. obviously worth playing with though

I learned that truffles are cultured in a liquid medium. The mycelium is as flavorful as the tubers and is used as the 'truffle flavor" in many products (since it is much easier to produce than macroscopic truffles). I find truffles not very palatable; they remind me of the sunstruck vinyl smell from the '67 Ford station wagon i grew up in.
I love truffles. My first experience was truffle oil over Gorgonzola fries at a bar? So fucking good.
