Where's all the other light Deps at??
Latitude matters. I'm north of the 45th, on a completely different schedule than you. If I had a true greenhouse with heat and lights, I could start earlier, but I don't, and I'm only doing one outdoor per year. So, I guess I don't really fit this thread because I'm not doing a "spring" light dep.

My light dep is not to get in two grows per summer, but to get in and out during the June - August window of sunshine that we get. This will be my first attempt at this, so it's nice that you have a head start and I can see how yours is doing ahead of mine.

looking great going to get tight,is thrir 2 rows or 3 in there?
3 rows of 10. I'm hoping to take off the greenhouse plastic half way thru flowering to minimize any mold issues. Should be all clear of rain and frost by then. I'll just have it covered a couple hours before the sun goes down

I start my seedlings on heat mats to over come the cold nights in April, may would work in Portland if i remember the weather correctly.Heaters run nonstop and an April or may start will give you nice sized plants without the need for lights.

We're growing 10 plants this summer, 5 photos and 5 autos. I'll start the photos on a heat mat in a tent indoors, probably move them into 1 gallon pots and keep them there a little longer. I don't need or want huge plants, it's going to be a really short season this year... if all goes as planned. Getting them started isn't as much of an issue has getting them finished.

It's a bit drier where i am at and may and June are nice to veg plants without the transition from indoors to outdoors. a mid june lite dep seems like it would finish before the rain.

First time covering the light dep at 6pm
I bought 100ft x 24ft roll of light dep blackout plastic on amazon. I was gonna double it up for my 20ft x 7ft GH but one layer made it pitch black.
Thanks for the link and review -- since you said one layer will do, I ordered the 24' x 50' roll. It's still more than I need, but better to have too much than too little.

Light Dep Update: I took the lights out 14 days ago and I've been covering them for 4 days. The hairs are just starting to show up. I gave them a small dose of Verde yesterday just to give them some nitrogen before they bud out. They've been feeding off what I put in the soil till now and they look great. I also sprayed them with Doctor Zymes to kill any unwanted pests. I'm covering every evening at 6pm and uncovering around 9-10pm.

I might be getting powdery mildew. I'll post pics tomorrow. Is sulphur burners the only/best way to kill it? I've never fought it

Sulfur burners work well to kill the spores, and some say that is the only thing that works. Another remedy is to spray with potassium bicarbonate, which is an ingredient in several products like Green Cure.
