Alright so first off I just wanted to say I love this site.. so much help on here! Really appreciate it!

I've been recommended to check out timber lighting and that's what I've been doing ! I'm interested in the framework and there are 3 options... #1 Cree CXB3590 Framework #2 Vero29 V7 Framework #3 Citizen CLU048 Framework... What are the differences between the 3 ? I'm looking into buying 2X 900watts for a 4x8 tent for flowering? I'm thinking of putting 6 plants under each light.. would 2X 600W do the job ? What are your opinions? I'm also looking to buy 100W framework for veg ? Should I buy a higher W light ? opinions, advice ? I'm thinking of vegging 12 plants for 8 weeks while my other 12 are flowering for 8 weeks... Opinions, advice for this cycle ?

Please answer all my questions ! I'm also looking to buy equipment that ships anywhere in Canada any links suggestions ?! Thanks in advance to everyone who will take the time to answer !

900w in a 4'x4' space is overkill. 100w for flowering 12 plants for 8 weeks is underkill.
If you want the feeling of knowing you are getting more than enough light, get the Vero 900w.
Otherwise, get the 600w Vero or Citizen frameworks.
I would get 300w to fill a 4'x4' area for veg but you might not have enough room to veg 12 plants for 8 weeks in a 4'x4'. Guess it depends on how you are training them.

If you want to save some money and get 850w for each 4'x4' space while supporting a Canadian light builder then take a look at BC Blondes HERE.

U can check out par-horta in canada.. Free shipping.. He will help u out.. Probably even build a light for you to your specs.. 2*600w cob panels should be enough for a 4*8.. You could ask him to build you 2*700w panels just to be safe.. He does killer paint jobs on them too..
Cheers

First time I've heard of the guy. Comparing them with BCBlondes (since they are the only company in Canada that builds lights that I know of), BCBlondes has an actual website and been in business years, Par Horta no website? BCBlondes offers a 3 year warranty, Par Horta is 1 year. Also, BCBlondes only uses pics of it's own gear, Par Horta has pics taken straight off Timber's website.

Other than that, they both offer lights with all the good stuff like top bin cobs, meanwell drivers etc. Pricing is very similar but BCBlondes is slightly less expensive. Maybe the free shipping by Par Horta makes pricing about equal.

We definitely need more professional type builders in Canada. Seems like a fairly untapped market.

You must not be on his site. He has a site. And dosent use timber pics.. He only has about 3 lights up on his site, but makes specialty lights for people.. He had some pics up on 420 mag of a custom 40 light build he did.. Good guy..

I would ask what drivers he is using on the Vero models, the one pic of the driver is as blurry as possible. Vero 29 D's don't line up with drivers very well. Make sure they are pairing correctly, and not making an circuit where the driver has to modulate to keep up...lowering below the stated current/output.

800w will yield the best ppfd between 800-900. Myself I prefer the cree 3590 3500k, as I have had much success with that product. I am using 36v cobs and 185H C1400B drivers for 50w per cob.

Oh ok. I googled the name and no website came up, only what he is selling on Kijiji. You'll notice in his ads on Kijiji seen HERE he's using Timber's pictures.

Not trying to say he does shitty work or anything. His lights look nice. Personally though I'm not sure if I would mount an aluminum channel directly on top of pin-fin heatsinks like on his Beem-4 light. Kinda defeats the purpose of natural convection and just boxes in all that heat.

He will make what u want. You just have to message him.. I think the enclosed version has a fan somewhere to keep it cool.. Hes a good dude and helps lots of people on that site build there own units if they dont want to buy a premade one.. He also sells parts to some people if there having trouble sourcing parts...
He also will put in what driver you want.. I had a discussion about this on the other site.. I personally have a 240-1400 and a 240-1750.. To run 4 vero d's on a 1400 you get 50w a piece.. If you use the 1750 it will limit the voltage a bit, but you'll get between 55-60w per chip.. I run 4*1750's on 16 vero d's.. Since the drivers are the same cost, i like having 5-10w extra per chip.. To each there own.. This guy will custom build a unit for u.. And the Canadian custom fees on a timber will kill ya..
Cheers

The bc blonde unit has the cobs way too close together in my opinion.. U can have them spaced farther apart and get better coverage and no hot spots..
Just my. .02¢

Yes, you can always space cobs further apart and keep the light closer. You can always keep them spaced tighter and raise the light up, giving very similar coverage. It's all relevant to how you use them. It's always hotter towards the center, if you space the cobs out further it just means you get less intensity.
As far as custom fee's, those are not what will kill you. Custom fee's are actually fairly small. What really gets you is the 14% tax or whatever it is in your province. If you spend $1000cdn they will add $140 at the border plus another $40 or whatever for customs fee's. These are approximates but pretty close to what you'll pay. It obviously varies depending on what type of product you're importing etc.

I think the benefit to ordering from BCBlondes is that they are more established, offer 2 more years of warranty and their lights are all in enclosures.
I did see some of the par-horta lights in enclosures but I assumed he makes them without since he uses the Timber pictures as examples of his builds on Kijiji.

But yeah, each to their own. I'm sure his lights grow plants just fine!

So basically you're saying 900w is overkill but 850w is good ? How much space do you think I would need for 12 veg of 8weeks ? First time grower here !! and do you think I would have enough of 300W for those 12 plants depending on the space ?![/QUOTE]

It can be overkill and good at the same time! It seems like with the selection available you are limited to a 600w light or a 900w light (or the 850w from bcblondes). 600w seems to be just enough and 900w is maybe a bit more than most need, unless say you're running co2 which I doubt you will be.
8 weeks of veg makes for pretty massive plants, like each plant is going to take up a 2'x2' space. So 4 plants in a 4'x4', maybe 6 if you jam them in a bit. If you cut back to 8 plants and veg in a 4'x6' and flower in a 4'x8' it might work ok. You could also veg in a 4'x4' with 200-300w and only veg for 4-5 weeks with 12 plants and then flower them in a 4'x8' which sounds much better.

And 12 cobs in such a small panel is not very economical.. Especially for 1500$.. I built 2*8cob panels that will easily cover twice the space as the blondes led, for about 1350$.. And if i lower my panel under 24" in veg at 250w, the girls are stressed... Taco bell baby..

Yess I will be trying co2 bags in my room... I like your idea of vegging for 4-5 weeks and then finishing them off in a 4x8 tent... thanks for your help ! Really appreciate it, I'll also look into bcblondes !

Do these cobs produce a lot of heat ?! Do I need to have an AC ?

I would mix 2700K mand 3500K for a great bloom light. More reds IR, far red, deep red spectrum and the littler blue found in the 3500k. The 3000k is not enough, I would go to the 2700k if available, m ore red. The lower the color or kelvin the warmer or mopre red and les blue. Plants want a mix of both red and blue. I would as far as 2700K and 5000K for a real nice bloom mix.
