When to start flowering cycle?

On my last grow, I vegged the plants for 8 weeks then forced them to flower. Is that too early? Would letting them grow to full maturity increase my yield?

You don't give enough information, but if we are talking indoor, depending on the type of weed 8 weeks is perfect.

Sorry 'bout that. Yes we're talking indoors. The seeds are Sativa, or almost completely so. Very little, if any, Indica evident. Great pot. I read somewhere that a plant doesn't fully mature for about 4 or 5 months. I don't have a problem flowering them early (at 8 or 10 weeks), I just want to maximize my yield.

increasing nodes will increase yield. you can veg for 8 weeks and be fine. you can veg for 4 weeks and have twice the nodes and yeild more.

you can actually start flowering as soon as the cutting has a proper root mass ????????????
