So if I have a 6k pot and A 250 ohm

If I wire 250ohm resister is series even if I have the pot dimmed down to 0 I'd have 250 ohm resistance?
Would 250 ohm be enough to limit drivers to 10%?

i think youre gonna have to to test and tell us. i dunno anybody that has done that many drivers. resistors are cheap so experiment :)

I'm happy to do the test just trying to understand how resistors work so I dont blow anything up lol.

Sorry for all the questions but for the pot value.

We have to divide 100k by number of drivers. I assume that's due to dimming leads being in parallel which causes the resistance value to be split between each driver and needs less possibly?

So in theory I could get away with a 10k or a 4K? Pot why do does it need to be a 100k for one driver?

If I use a 100k pot for 16 drivers what would happen

the dimming circuits are low risk. it will either be full on, full, off, or somewhere in between

i think it has to do with the internal resistance of each circuit and its effect on other drivers

because datasheet

if you put 10K on one driver you wont get it over 10% output

That's great thanks so 100k / 16 = 6250ohm

So I need to provide 6250 ohm resistance to get max output from drivers.

I

So if I want to cap the max power at 90% to protect breakers and min power at 10% to protect drivers

I can use a 600 ohm resistor in series always on to cap power at 9.5% closest I can get to 10%

And then 5625 ohm = 90% but due to acculative values I can use a 5k pot and then the 600 ohm in series would cause max resistance value to be 5600 which would cap out at 90%

Sound about right?
