Diluted Urine in 10:1 Ratio for Hydroponics and drain to waste. Growers Thoughts??

I added about 500ML of 10:1 water/urine + 5:1 CES Bloom 0-6-5 mix with a PH of 5.9-6 this morning right before the sun came up, and she seems to be flourishing.

I've used urine on cannabis males outside. Roses, purple shamrock, devils ivy, and tomatoes. (I like to piss outside)

I've known the dilution rate to be 5 to 1. I've also used urine collected right after a multivitamin.

I've read that the best time to collect urine is 3 hours after imbibing a multivitamin.

What I don't know is the best multivitamin to try.

Is Centrum men's one-a-day sufficient.

Here are the ingredients. I'm sure the levels would be lower after the vitamin has been metabolized by the kidneys and liver.



Thiamin 1.35
Riboflavin 1.7 mg
Niacin 18 mg
Folic Acid 400 mcg
Vitamin B6 3 mg
Vitamin B12 18 mcg vs. 6 mcg), 12% DV more Biotin 75 mcg
Pantothenic Acid 16 mg
Magnesium 140 mg
Zinc 15 mg

So what are the nutrient values in the above ingredients?

I'd compare it to the micronutrients you buy in fertilizer. A lot of it is the same. Like magnesium. Zinc. Iron. I believe Super Thrive is vitamin B1.

Don't get pure urine on leaves. Don't even get the solution on the plant. Piss on a plant on a bright day and it'll mess it up and good. Too much urine is a weed killer. I do it all the time to the weeds around the air conditioner compressor outside. Piss all the beer I can. At first they take off. Then the excess nitrogen kills them.

I've read about a ratio of one full bladder piss to one gallon water. Never used it so I can't attest to it. Bladder contains what? A cup? So that'd be a cup a gallon. I'm sure the ratio is for outside.

I just read about an hour worth of info on the web about peeing in the garden and it was mostly very positive. For the those of you with compost piles, you can pee directly on your compost which is excellent advise if you have young male children or grandkids (male recommended only because of the 'hose' apparatus and the propensity to piss outside)

The only potential downside is to be careful to use your urine if you're taking meds. Unfortunately I'm not finding a lot of scientific study about which meds in urine are dangerous to use in gardens, but I would avoid applying your urine IF you're taking antibiotics, chemotherapy, or any other drugs that warn you about toxic urine - I have a coworker who just went through cancer treatment for bladder cancer that involves injecting live tuberculosis virus through a catheter into the bladder... obviously not something you would want on your plants. He said he has to pour bleach in the toilet when he pees after treatment.

So use your best judgement based on your medications and ask your doctor, pharmacist, or a good local garden club if they have any recommendations of what drugs make your urine a risk to use on cannabis, or edible garden vegetables if you're not ready to divulge the c word.

Yes, the ratio is for an outdoor grow.
The only difference is I move her inside around 7 and put her under an LED for 4 hours so she has an 18-6 light cycle.
I only get about 10 hours of natural daylight where I live.

The wife and I just had shrimp pasta for lunch so i took the shells and pulverized them and mixed with water to an adjusted PH of 6.5.

I saw an article that shrimp shells are rich in Nitrogen, phosphorus, and Calcium.


I'll post a pic tomorrow to show if she likes it or not.

Are you doing this only for the Urea content? I think there is easier ways for sure to get N. Most of the things you listed in the multivitamin cannot be taken up by a plant aside from zinc and mag.


Here is a company trying to do just this on a large scale. To remove N from wastewater costs about $250 per pound, and just like anything......money talks.

In my original post about I mentioned that I am only using urine to supplement nitrogen until my CES micro nutes arrive in 4 days.

Once my full three part micro, grow, and bloom nutes arrive, I will mix a solution and water my girl daily with that.

I am literally just trying to bridge the nutrient gap until my amazon order arrives.

Human pee {for a typical Western diet} is 11-2-1, or the perfect veg food. Use it in whatever ratio you would use with other liquid plant food in that range. I use one cup per 5 gallons on seedlings. Increasing it with the age of the plant. Healthy vegging plants will easily take 5-6 cups per five gallons. If you are saving you pee, make sure you do it in a air tight jug. I camp a couple times a week, and hate to go outside to pee after I have buttoned up the shelter. I pee in a jug and save it for the garden. It's a great veg food, and it's free.

I was stressing because I added the diluted urine before I got an answer back.

Your response made me feel better to know that I probably didn't kill my plant by adding a diluted urine mix:D
