change of light

I started all my seedlings under a 400watt hps light with added blue and red for both stages. . I made my mistake today by changing pots . 2 I had in 11ltr pots the others in small ones that seemed to outgrow the ones in bigger pots.. so I moved them up a few pot sizes . everything was fine only one shown signs of stress as she drooped. there now 9 days old . should I change my light or will that cause unesesary stress

for seedlings use just one cfl (daylight) at about 2-4 inches

in truth they don't need light but heat at 25c/77f

then later 2 weeks add another cfl

use the 400w hps for bud

good luck

but can I swop now . as I have already been using the hps?

I encourage outdoor growers to use the hps during the early days of the plants life to encourage the plant to stretch

out door growers/guerrillas need to get their plants established fast

to do that they encourage the plants to stretch

a tall lanky thin plant drops easy into an deep hole where the stem kicks out roots ...quick

a tall plant don't need watering so much either ...that s outside!

for indoor pot sizes I'm happy with autos in a 10 liter pot,

and photos in a 15 liter pot with 2 month flowering, gives a comfortable easy plant at about 2-5 feet hi

good luck

Why are you wanting to change the light? One droopy plant don't count. It could be a slow grower. Picky. Runt.

Did you sprout them in under the 400? Did they stretch a lot at first?

I germinated them in tissue paper after a water soak for a few hrs . once taproot was out I planted and kept them in a warm dark cupboard at night and left in a warm room with a light on in the day .once they were above soil and about 3 inch I put them in the tent with the 400watt. yes at 1st they stretched but the first 2 I repotted deeper to cover the main stem and these were in 11ltr pots. since I have removed the smaller of the 2 and potted in a smaller pot leaving g the other in the 11 ltr pot . to see if it does anything . it looks healthy enough I just want to give them best shot I can it's my 1st grow

Well thought out.

Wait till you have a bunch of grows. The anticipation isn't as bad. Little issues are no biggy. Then it gets repetitive. Every morning it's make coffee then check the temps. Mix nutes. Water what needs watered. Empty the drip pan. Paper towel to clean up drips.

Love them but don't over love them. Yours look good. Take it easy and soon you'll enough bud to make all the things you read about. Besides smoking. Honey oil, hash, cookies, brownies. Breath spray tincture...hot wing sauce.

Hell, I have a bottle of rubbing alcohol in the bathroom. Sugar leaves soaked in it. I use it as a muscle rub.

You can pack a bowl and not worry about the cost. Cannabis may not be addictive but growing it is.

Yes. I didn't read anything you're doing that's cRaZy fucked up. Your plants are doing good. You have your plan down. Personally, I don't like to transplant in steps. I grow from seed to adult in the same pot. Others like doing it. I've done it before. I don't run big pots. You lose about two to three days for it recover from any transplant shock. The same plant not transplanted, doesn't get the stress. But that's me.

thank you . I have a long way to go I tend to them like babies. I haven't got all the kit yet but have basics . lights filter oslating fan . gonna get a bigger tent next few days as trying to keep temps steady is hard with the hps light .and think the bigger tent ... not to big. .. would help that . the one I have is only 3ftx3ftx5ft. so gonna get a 120x120x2mtr upgrade my filter . I'll leave them in the pots there in now for a good few weeks and water every 3 days.. ph is 6.5.to 7. humidity sits about 30...36 can't get it higher yet I believe with it at what it is .less chance of bugs and root rot. .I spray in the morning after about 2 hrs of light and then in the afternoon. . and again later eavning to help keep humidity stable. . thanks for your input any advise is taken on board

LED. All that heat issue crap gets solved. Embrace the modern. No more light bulb that's as big as your forearm. That gets hot enough to fry bacon on...

If you ever decide to change. A 300watt LED can replace the 400watt high intensity you're running. You can run less ventilation to hang onto the humidity level you want.

A 400 watt takes a lot of air to cool. Also sucking what humidity level that's in the space with it. I use to use a 400HID. It's problematic at times. Especially on cooling that big basturd. Tried a 1000 watt one time. Fried everything in the cabinet. Crispy.
