LOL. What else have you learned in your search? Once again, I'll ask, have you ever been in jail?
If not, why do you think you know more about it than someone who has?
Almost everyone has been "in jail" (arrested).
You should seriously consider the GED after your next conviction.
Probably your third strike, so you'll have lots of time to work on it... :dunce::dunce::dunce:

Education does not equal intelligence.

Experience matters but so does knowledge.
From your perspective, it is impossible to understand this. :dunce:

Incorrect.

Although we do have more prisoners than anybody else, our prison population represents less than 1% of the national population.

Right at 10% of the population will ever have any encounter with law enforcement at all. Of those, only about 3% will ever be arrested. Of those, only about 1% will ever do time in jail. That's why we have a population of nearly 325 million and a prison population of right at 2.3 million.

You just proved my point.
Thank you.
I didn't prove your point.

Fact is you never done time and have no idea what its like.

Fact is fed inmates are forced to work, even the bureau of prisons website says such.

Sure you can refuse. They can do all the things mentioned and nothing the inmate can do. You think the guards are actually going to put the reason as refusal to work?

And it's a travesty it continues on unabated.

You need a field cleared, what do you do? Take bids?

Nah. Why bother? Just call your local Federal Prison Warden, tell him you'll give him 5 grand to clear that field and it's done. He'll pocket the 5 grand, work 50 men on a detail for a few days at no costs to him at all, and everybody wins.

Except the prisoners that wanted no part of being knee deep in shit in the middle of some god forsaken field, that is.
I can see both sides of it. I see the need for jobs for those that want them in prison. I can also see the rehabilitation aspects of it.

At the end of the day its still slave labor.
