So this is a mix of widow and purps...
I germinated the seeds, planted in 1" RW cube... dipped cubes in 250ppm pure blend nutes for about a week until roots showed...
put the 1" RW cubes in 4" RW blocks.. (i normally use baskets/hydroton but thought id try these blocks for a change)...
had good growth for about 1 week at about 400ppm 6.0pH flooding my table 2x a day to a medium waterline (about 60%up the sides of the blocks)
about 5 days ago i started to see some shit on the edges... i wont say burning cuz thats what im tryin to figure out...
So im tryin to figure out if its a watering issue or nute deprivation...
I always use calmag/pureblend grow and they flourish just fine...
some say to let the cubes dry out then rewater ... the guy at the hydro store says you can hit em with flood as often as you want as long as the reservoir is WELL oxygenated (which mine is)....
now with 1" cubes i always dry em out then hit em up... they dry fast and you can dip em once a day to wet em up a bit.. not a hard concept....
now these 4" cubes this is my thought...
if it IS nute deficiency... maybe i flood ..the roots suck up the shit they need and for the rest of the day even though the cube is wet they still dont have enough food... i dont see any over watering signs... so im thinking upping my ppm from 750 to 900 (which i just did) then lowering the water line to hit the first inch of the cube (which I just did) and then flooding 3x a day to ensure plenty of nutes of a balanced nature are gettin in there.....
then in the back of my mind im thinking... i wonder if i should let the cubes dry out to half the water weight... but that means that they could still have the deficiency if they are eating up what they need and they dont get the proper levels for 2 days till the cube dries up a bit....
also nute deficiency will first show in older foilage.... which mine show... (the new growth is nice n green) the 2nd and 3rd nodes down are the ones yellowing from the outside in...
when i run my baskets w/ hydroton... i start clones at 750 and power em up to 1000 within a week ...just for your reference and i run at 6.0ish with great results....
how should i be flooding this table?
I either need higher ppm (like 1000) and water once every couple days
or
900ppm which im at now 3x a day at a low waterline...
it was showing problems at 2x a day at 650ppm about 5 days ago at waterline about 60% up the cube...
meanwhile... in the batcave... the 16 in pic 252 are kickin ass veggin under HPS
