New Beginnings for Massachussetts and I

Just for the record, there are lots of grows in pure FFOF without any amendments. If you're out of Roots, just use the FFOF. I'm not sure you really need to lighten it up, but I would suggest you add 1/2" of food grade diatomacious earth to the top of the soil to protect against beasties that might be waiting to hatch. FFOF has some issues with insects on board and the diatomacious earth is inert to the soil and basically cuts them up as they try to pass through.
I do have a bag of ancient forest here.....but afraid to add to much to initial medium.
Wish I had some light warrior to put in the solo cup impression, but budget dictates otherwise.

So, I'm making a far red LED sleepy time initiator for my plants, and then two friends wanted them but didn't want to make them, so I'm making theirs too. Are there people here that would want to pay for parts and I just put them together for you because I like community? I don't actually like to leave my house much, so likely I would ship them or we could meet in Boston for a drop off. If there is interest I'll make a side conversation and we can hash out the parts and stuff.

Anyone familiar with using FFOF & FFHF? I am going to use a ½-½ mixture in a 3 gallon pot for my next lady. Also going to add about 30% perlite.

From your experience, do you recommend anything else be added to the medium right from the get go such as: worm castings, coffee grounds, epsom salts, etc? Or are OF and HF fine by themselves? (I have no idea what is "hot" and what is not. Well, in the cannabis world at least!)

What I plan on doing is filling a 3 gallon pot with the OF/HF/Perlite mixture. Then make a solo cup impression sized in the middle where I will plant the seed, and filling that hole with just HF. Then as she gets older her roots will search out the richer soil.

I did the same thing with my autos except I use Roots organic with Light Warrior core in a 5-gallon pot. They absolutely loved it.

Grab a little space heater if you can, itll help, if not in the tent, near the intake or something so itll get your place too, or atleast heat up that room, I recently had a heat outage too and temps in tent dropped to 51 one night, very scary stuff, had to set up a space heater for a week until the heat was fixed

Started my trim- only chopped a few at a time -up to 8 out of~ 40- this takes a long time for a first timer. And like playing with Super Glue. Finger hash my ass, the stuff won't rub off; maybe soak fingers in everclear and drink LOL

now we know why they named a plant "gorilla glue". I was making a tincture the other day, happen to have some everclear right here! :-)

Easy, another MA grower. going to be ordering 4x cxm22 3500 80 cri cobs for my small 2x4 x 4 bloom tent, and a clu48 1212 5000k for a small 2x2 veg room.

Growing in roots organic soil. probably going to mainline but we will see how it plays out. popped an amnesia lemon x unknown cross from my last grow 3 years ago. also a saphire OG and Honneybell from HSO that were gifted as freebies from another MA grower.

pics are of the Amnesia lemon. shes been topped for 4 mains as of today. currently they are all under a 2 bulb t8.

hot soil is cooking now with kelp meal, fish bone meal, crab meal, azomite, oystershell, and lots of EWC. thinking about getting some lobster compost from Coast of maine as well to blend in... Roots organic base.

Flowering will be in 7 gallon fabric pots.

happy growing.
Get 3000K 90CRI COB LED chips. You'll thank me after your first crop.

Just got home from work. Amnesia lemon #1 recovering well from her 2nd topping yesterday. She now has 4 main colas. 1 more round of topping in 3-5 days will have her (fingers crossed) setup for 8 main colas.

This was a seed pulled out of my last run of barneys farm amnesia lemon in 2013. The father is unknown, as there were some breeder males in vicinity, but i have a strong feeling it is a tga aos. This aos male had beautiful purple pollen sacks. Unfortunatly, that op shut down shortly after. IMG_20170306_235121_678.jpg
