Promix Organic

I add about four cups of organicare to my five gallon pail of pro mix, organic pro mix or not, at the onset of flower, and again in about 3 weeks worked into the top of the soil. I have also watered with their liquid compost/soil ferts with and without the dry ferts, excellent results both ways.
I start in plain pro mix in a cup, to a one gallon bag of promix, transplanted on top of an ounce of fish fertilizer powder at about 3 inches tall, foiar fed a couple times, transplanted into the five pail, more fish powder at transplant. I used to love my hydro until I did this, wont look back. good luck. rabbit shit works great if you have access. llama, alpaca too. chicken needs to be composted first, its hot hot

A lot of ppl I know use it as a base but here's subcools recipe always a good one there's hundreds of recipes out there.

When you grow with SubCool's Super Soil Recipe Mix your plants require WATER ONLY for their entire life cycle because you have taken the trouble of putting all of the organic nutrients into the potting soil. Using pure organic nutrients in their raw forms mixed into a soil base allowing them to begin the decomposition process of breaking down into plant usable forms by letting the mixture rest for 6 to 10 weeks.

This amendments package has the food and amendments for a batch of SuperSoil but does not come with the 8 (1.5CF) bags of high quality base soil containing Coco Coir and mycorrhizae. Monster Gardens recommends the best soils for making this recipe like Coco Connoisseur or Coco Forest and similar soil blends.


Recipe:

8 - 1.5 cubic ft bags of high quality base soil
1 33lb. bag of Worm Castings
2.5 lbs. Fish Bone Meal
5 lbs. High Phosphorus Bat Guano
5 lbs. Blood Meal
2.5 lbs. Bone Meal
3 cups. Oyster Shell
3 cups. Kelp Meal
3 cups Alfalfa Meal
3/4 cup Epsom Salt
1 cup Dolomite Lime
2 cups Azomite
2 TBS powdered Humic Acid


It is necessary that you let the soil mature over 6 to 10 weeks prior to planting once amended.
 
I use pro mix organic mixed with cow manure but I also use chemical fertilizer, I just like their soil.
 
Good recipes. Everybody has their favorite.
You WILL not regret going more the organic route. My plants have never been happier. And that makes my life easier!
Also much cheaper once you get a base going.

first thing ya wanna do if you are serious about it, and have the room is make a worm bin and a compost pile.
a wormbin at the minimum.
promix can be used for the "spine" of many organic grows, after all it's just perlite and peat
with organic media rich in humus you MUST use extra aeration, I recommend varying types, vermiculite, perlite, pumice, biochar, rice hulls, coco wool etc.
for amendments I do not like soluble nutrients as they are harder to predict on the availability as well as their solubility .
 
I like to mix coast of maine lobster compost with my pro mix. I just got my shipment in of alfalfa meal, neem seed meal, some all purpose. All down to earth. I have orca, mykos, as well as companion. Master Gardners bumper crop is another good staple. I do live soil grows in 20g smart pots.

count on mixing in extra amendments at transplant a couple weeks before flip to flower with down to earth products. i find their neem, crab, and fishbone meal sub par. they break down way too fast (the size of the material is too small). didn't have these issues when i was using top quality amendments and then i got lazy, stopped ordering in the good stuff cause i didn't want to wait, and started buying the DTE stuff from the store.... haven't had one harvest down without deficiencies half way through flower from all the food being gone too early. So, while i'm using up the rest of that DTE stuff, i've been mixing extra amendments in at transplant (right into the mix; by the time they start to break down the plant will be ready for them). just a couple TBSP of each one per 5-7 gallons of soil... nothing crazy. it has helped TREMENDOUSLY in my most recent experiments with doing so. Also top dressing 3 weeks into flower with another TBSP of each mixed with compost. again... has helped tremendously.
 
What brand amendments would u want to buy if down to earth is not lasting i dont want to have to mix more in at transplant i would like to not transplant into the flowering stage

I wouldn't transplant, I would just top dress some fresh meals (neems, fish, kelp), worm castings and compost (or just one or the other) right when you switch to flower.

Or if you got quality castings a worm tea every week will keep your plants fertilized later in the season. A steeped kelp tea every couple weeks can do wonders too.

If you aren't queasy and like projects then making your own fish hydrolysate and fermented plant extracts is pretty simple. They are a great way to keep your plants fertilized later in the season without having to add more store bought fertilizers or transplant into fresh soil.

i don't know yet. i'll let you know after I get a run in with the new brand. I will say this though... the product i got from BAS seems denser, and also smells a lot more than the stuff from DTE... which to me is a clear indicator of a superior product, but we shall see. the new mix i did for my 20 gal no tills has zero DTE products in it.

what do you mean you don't want to transplant before the flowering stage? what size container are you planning on flowering in? you need room for the roots to grow while flowering...

Before the fancy bag soil come about. It's a simple mix of sphagum peat moss, garden soil and some fine mesh compost. Amendments, perlite and vermiculite.
