I have a question though,do you know if chlorine will kill a pythium infection? What about fungus gnat larvae infestation of roots? My feeling is at high enough concentrations it will, but is 2ppm high enough for that? And 1gram/100gallons is 2ppm total chlorine, not free chlorine, the free chlorine might have to be higher to kill them?

It's tough to fight pythium once it takes hold. I think hydrogen peroxide is better in that situation but I prefer to be pro active and chlorine is best used as preventative measures.

I've never had problems with fungus gnats but I would imagine if you remove the food source...rotting roots..you remove the bugs.

Free chlorine cant be higher than total chlorine. Its like a war, total chlorine would be all the soldiers on the field..dead or alive. Free chlorine are the ones still fighting.

I had it hit my cloner a couple of years ago, used H2O2 3% solution @150 ppm in the cloner and when watering them once I got them into pots. Worked well, only lost one of about 15 strains going at the time. I've read in a couple of spots that you need at least 100 ppm for it to do anything.

If you use 6g pool shock to 5 gal concentrate mix, 1500ml will do 200 gallon and probably kill the stuff. I found I had to go pretty high concentration to win the battle. Raise the water level to submerge the roots, then lower it the same day.

Everyone has such beautiful plants.
Here are my 2 plants 14 days into flower (I forget when I flipped but first pistils appeared on the 14th). This is the first time I have grown in like 20 years and first time indoors.
Happy n healthy, perky and praying. Good job
