I have a friend who could make my website for a small fee. No worry there, I would probably use Paypal as well. I just don't want to be sleazy and intrude on another market. I just really got into cobs, but I'm fascinated by them. Ironically, one of my friends works for Ideal.
Like I said, I want to see what the market is like for citizen chips, as that is all I would probably sell. CLU048 1212, CLU038 1210.

There is always room for better service, quality product, at a great price. No such thing as intruding on another business. Its called competition. Study everyone else, and figure out how to differentiate yourself. Or if you just want to do it for fun, thats cool too. You could start putting kits together and hucking them on ebay. If you do a website, get a merchant account, its much more professional. If you have a hookup at ideal, maybe you can add those for "free" into your orders. No one else does that. You're shipping times needs to be on point! People expect their stuff fast

Lastly, your cob inventory will decrease in value every day over time. All electronics is vulnerable to this. So be aware and stock accordingly. Dont get stuck with 600 cobs you paid $20 per and can only sell for $11, its painful. When you see the value start to drop, dump them asap with a sale.

ask them(citizen) what the "long term lumen maintenance" is for the 1212 and 1818 chips.cant seem to find this info anywhere on the citi site

The gen 6 1212s have an average of 85% at 50,000 hours. I don't recall where I read this, but most of my brain is dedicated to data sheets at this point so that's something. I would definitely like to see these numbers, I'll see if I can dig them up for certain later tonight when I get back home.

Yeah, I know but it's principal I suppose. I'll have more details soon, I'm getting a couple chips to sample for the version 6, should be fun. They seemed genuinely interested and got a hold of me within 48 hours. My buddy works for ideal, but he's not a magician. I talked to the head manager and I would need to order at least 500 pieces for them to deliver me "whole sale" prices
I'm weighing my options. This would certainly not be a way of full time income but a supplementary income. Would you guys care for version 5 chips or do you consider them outdated? They seemed pretty convinced that the 1818 was actually of not great value, like they were like "its meh" lol, they were really pushing 1212 and 1210. Seemed like genuine people.

this sounds like cree's info if im not mistaken.but yeah i would like to see the numbers also.im trying to wrap my head around the idea of citizen and luminus making these chips with the same quality and specs,longevity as cree and vero at a fraction of the prices lol.it would be cool to see a build from a few years ago like we see with the older 3070 or older vero 18 see how the chips are holding up.

Don't know if it's relevant for you, but by now there's a very fast growing and completely untapped market in EU. Everybody wants COB's of high quality, Citizen, Cree, Vero's and Luminus, and nobody sells them. It really is a pain to have to order from Kingbrite, US, or Canada in order to get quality COB's and associated gear like drivers, heatsinks and such. We're hungry over here!

I had an argument with with @Icemud420 more than a year ago before Citizen was even a thing on this site. Any way, I was trying to prove that the CXB3590 was better then the Citizen in his Budmaster (@ the time gen 4) and he said the main reason he prefers Citizen is because of the lumen maintenance. I didn't believe any thing could be better than the 3590. So I asked for proof and he posted a data sheet that actually showed that the Citizen had a much better lumen maintenance than the CXB, and that was for a gen 4. So I can only think the newer chips with better thermal management being even better. I cant find the data sheet he sent me but you can ask him for it.

Well, I'd be based out of the US as well, but I'd still ship to EU, I'd try getting shipping prices to be real low, like no profit off of shipping at all. I hate being scammed by shipping. I thought I saved 30$ on heat sinks just to pay 20$ for shipping lol. And it was 2 states over....
The management team at Citizen were really stoked about their version 6 man. I'd be more than welcome to ask for official numbers so I can get those back to the community.
The prices are a tad bit soft right now, but I will try to be .50 to a dollar cheaper than anywhere else. I'll also only do flate rate shipping with tracking since these chips are small and can be packaged quite well

citi gen 6 and luminus gen 3 are sought after right now have some cxm-32 on the way and 2 citi 056 clu3618 given to me by friend.Really would be interesting to see multiple citi and luminus products tested against each other
