Questions about setting up my indoor growing

Hello ,I want to start my own indoor growing but it must be on a budget ... So my question is can I just let's say put a 600W HPS lamp in a fully dark room and a fan to start my growing ?

Lets say the place where I think to start my indoor growing is place that has couple rooms that I don't use.I think to use the middle sized room and I am thinking about regular oscillating fan. Maybe I should get lamp with lower than 600W

I read on the interternet that 600 hps light should be 8 to 16 inches away from the plant so it can prevent burning. Is this true ? If I want to grow autos do I need those 23 watt lights ?

Because a 600w light will burn your seedlings up. You'll need to start them with something a little less powerful.
 
Oh and don't believe everything that you read. 95% of the bullshit that you read on the Internet is just that. Bullshit. You've got to sift through it all to find the correct info.

You can buy fluorescent shop lights almost anywhere. I believe that Walmart sells 48" two bulb t8 fixtures for $10-$15. Perfect for clones and seedlings.

In my country I don't have Walmart so I gotta buy some sort of fluorescent lights before the 600w HPS. Is there ligthing that you can start with it and end with it ?

Is that good for the seedlings ?

To me, using MH to start plants is a waste of power. I'd find some sort of fluorescent or cfl to start them and maybe add in MH a few weeks into veg. I usually veg exclusively with t8s and sometimes even an old t12. They do the trick.

With fluorescent lighting, you typically use a few dozen watts of power as opposed to a few hundred watts of power. Some people say that when using MH during veg that their plants stretch more than with fluorescent lighting bc you have to hang the lights higher to prevent burning your plants. With my t8s, they stay within an inch sometimes 2 inches from the tops of my plants. Fluorescent lights produce very little heat.
