I don't have problems growing. I'm just looking for ways to boost flavor in hydro. There's nothing wrong with my bud... it looks and smells awesome. But the taste is just ok compared to my outdoor. I use aact once a week with kelp worm poo alfalfa crab and humic acid. I've tested my bud in the past so I know it is potent. The clubs love my weed. But I don't. Wtf?

I cure it right. I control my humidity throughout and jar burp blah blah... out of light, cool temps... idk. Is it true that soil bud just taste better? My hydro plants get friggin huge fast and look beautiful. But I always find myself reaching for the outs.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks Booda

Floralicious + throughout flowering, and a minimum 5 day flush. Also the right genetics. Weed that taste like crap usually will taste like crap no matter what you do. They sell flavor inhancers, but I'm not a big fan of artificially changing flavors.

I loved my hydro produce. I love my dirt produce better. There isnt comparison, like hydro tomatoes vs dirt ones, it easy peasy.
hooked to a force fed IV line or left to forage the soil, listen to the million miles of messaging filaments.

there are NO tricks, or else they'd just be the way we do things.
switch to dirt, its tough, I know, the hydro addiction is strong, but the dirt grow is better

Between the "flushing" advice and "NO tricks" statement.....There IS a REAL answer. (excuse me a moment while I finish snickering at the previous answers).

Sulfur. The type it is and the amounts delivered, enhance flavors!

There are "Flavor enhancers" put out by nutrient companies with various claims......The laughable part is those that claim specific flavoring, usually by bright colored labels depicting Grapes, Pineapples, etc, etc. In truth, you can deliver S in several plant usable forms that each have their own taste "profile".

Mag Sulfate = A berry like note.
K (potassium) Sulfate = a Citrusy, rather Lemon note.

These 2 compounds will also help increase trichome production (more trich's, more odor and taste) and actually help fatten up the buds, increasing your yield a bit.

Many of these nutrient maker supplied products. Simply combine like amounts of each and are the exact same formula. No matter what "fruit picture" is on the label...They are stupidly expensive. Avoid these! Then there are the "Terpinator" and Resinator" brands. each claim about the same but, each has it's own concentration and feed charting! ( Resinator has changed it's formula a cpl of times. Most likely a legal issue over another formula, by another company. Resinator also contains unneeded P in it's new formulation.) Terpinator I find as low strength and not as efficient as it could be. One of these is expensive and the other is stupid expensive! These are K sulfate formula's and are the lemon/citrus ones.

Then there is Botanicares SWEET RAW. A simple (and I mean simple) Mg sulfate (Epsom salts) and complex Carb supplement that works pretty darn good! BUT, (Oh, oh) it's $65.00 a gallon or MORE! This is the More Berry/grape one!

I looked at these and laughed.....read the label, do some math, and I came up with a "Sweet Raw" you can make in your own kitchen for less the a $1.00 a GALLON!

I got asked if I could do that for terp and resinator too! I took a look and......

Came up with a formula for a 10% K sulfate and complex carb supplement ( I felt that this was a more effective concentration if you follow the feeding chart I listed), and I also listed a safe feeding chart for it. Instead of the cost being like "Sweet Raw" or higher...You make a gallon for about $4.00 a gallon!

All I can say is that these things work! If you buy organic OMRI sourced ingr. Your organic.

Search here on this site - Home made Sweet Raw, and Home made Terpinator, Resinator and use my screen name as the filter....You will have those formula's and the sources for the ingr.

Good luck!

What nute line you using ?
I'm using different lines. I have gh, boatanicare, houSe, humboldt natural, grow more, and mad farmer .use gh Lucas with additives in hydro. I give em silica, seaweed alfalfa meal, foliar guano, and foliar molasses throughout when possible.

This is what I was looking for. Sounds like what my brain told me... I'm not a master gardener by any means but I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. I think I'll just keep doing both methods. Hydro for the indoor only guys and I'll just keep burning my outs.

Terpines are expressed in a wider profile in soil I hear

mind blowing range of terps compared to water grown weed

those terps are in water weed too but not developed

as a trial foilar spray your fan and water leaves with a dilute AACT

and fool some of those terps/trics/tokers ..lol

good luck

Great info. I foliar full strength tea until my dehumidifier can't dry my buds out any more usually until week 6-7.

Try bud candy and sugar and water!
I tried sugar and the almost all the bro tricks. For sugar I'll stick to my hibrix. Although I do put raw cane sugar into my teas. And pink salt. And yeast. And oatmeal sometimes too. Any bro tricks u know that are new?

flush with Mountain Dew
I did flush a plant with Mountain Dew once to see if it worked. Idk if it worked but he bud was fine lol. I've tried coke too:fire:. Just made the high a bit more up lol; not really.

raw cane sugar got molasses

pink salt is Nepal mountain salt? I see no benefit ..??

yeast for in soil C02 but the viability is questionable ..?

oatmeal ..ok but bran would be better, rice water is best of all

keep lining them up dude ...lol nice!

check this : http://biology.anu.edu.au/news-events/apical-dominance-maintained-sugar-limitation
Yeast gets the microbes goin.
Pink salt has various nutrients <secondary)
I meant to say raw coconut sugar from the hippy store. It tastes a bit salty so I figured it was the mag the coconuts are known for in the islands.

Any other bro tricks?:weed:

I always liked canna boost but its damn expensive.
i called it msg as it enhanced the flavour so much.
A good friend of mine uses canna and says that too... I guess one of these days when I have an extra 100 bucks or so I'll run it on some trays. Thanks for the suggestion. If it works for me; I guess I'll have to call it ajinomoto like my bachan does. Hope it works.

Just dont overdo it. i once grew ata tundra from seedsman and not sure if it was the boost but it smelt great tasted good but didnt get you stoned, probably the weakest smoke ive ever grown. Im blaming too much boost, and also seedsman dont have a good name i guess. Everyone thought it would be fire from the smell and everything but it wasnt.

At the right dose you will get more trichs too.

I now use flora nectar from gh but havent opened the bottle yet. Its a lot cheaper than boost.

I agree with Dr. Who and would like to add this:

Genetics - you can do everything but if the genes aren't there - its a waste...

In my life I searched about 150-200 different seeds to become mother plants - and from that only 5 mother plants have been found to have everything good so called keepers.

Yeast? Not a good idea to mix that into your soils.....Not when you add sugars of any kind.

If your adding anything other then EWC and maybe some alfalfa meal. (always add kelp extract after brewing. Brewing with kelp meals or extract reduces active bio counts in AACT by over 30%) Your not doing a basic Bio tea. I would NOT add yeast at all to AACT. It will cause fermentation and the alcohol is bad juju! Yeast only gets it's self going when there is any carb present.

blah blah blah... fact: inorganic salts are easily broken down by plants. The quality of those salts makes all the difference as well as the amount, AND, most people way over saturate AND don't check pH or ppms during flower, when both need daily adjustments

I have used Dutch Master Gold, Hydroponic- Research and now Emerald Harvest- all taste excellent

I was a DMG whore for years too. soo blah blah blah to the blah blah blah
no spring chicken here fella,

where do you get that stat from anyways? "most people dont check ppm or ph in flower" ?

organically fed produce has always tasted better, always held more nutritional value, and is friendlier to the environment... I thought everyone has always know that
