Auto watering for a small grow? Any ideas?

Hello all,
I was wondering what great solutions to a small DIY auto watering set up you folks have come up with.

My set up a small, 10 pot soil set up that I would like to rig with auto irrigation. I have to leave them alone from time to time.

I was thinking something along the lines of a 5 gal res with drip emitters on some sort of timer. I have been researching all sorts of shit along these lines and was curious if anyone has come up with something here. I need to be able to count on something to keep my pots moist for about a week or so.

Drip sytems on a timer are quite easy and you can get all the parts at home depot! Lol. Except for the maybe the pump, i dunno about that one. Anyway you just get some drippers in the lawn irrigation/sprinker stuff isle for like 4 bucks and then get some tubing in the same isle. Then goto the electric isle i thing and get a 20 electronic digital timer in a different section. I got one that has 2 outlets and has 7 different events and each event has an on and off time that can be in 1 minute increments so you can do up to 7 cycles daily. Or you can do a flood and drain pretty simple too. Or Deep water culture, thats stupid simple lol. There are a bunch of threads about both of those, im sure you could look at one. Exactly Right!!
You can find the pump in the gardening section. Get a pond pump, same thing. Or go to the nearest farm/ranch outlet and get an industrial sized 5000 GPH pump and go to town.


PS just kidding about the last part.

theres a mag called skymall.. that they give u on the airplane=southwest..and it has a auto plant waterer..it say it waters 14 plants for i think one week..it has drip lines it looks cool to me....
