We'll see who runs in four years. Until then, Bernie will be leading from the Senate. There will be plenty of information on him to help assess his ability to be an effective president by then. I like Bernie but would prefer a younger leader to emerge.

In the meantime, the Democratic Party has a lot of work to do to re-gain the trust of Middle America. It's a pipe dream to think that Bernie will just waltz into the WH if he's nominated. There needs to be building up at the grass roots and progress in removing GOP from offices at the state level too.

Pinning all our hopes on an aging senator to become president and save us is naive.
