This from the imbecile that thinks the Congress blocking SCOTUS appointment is an example of checks and balances put in place by the founding fathers.

You are a joke - a sad joke that we will all be paying for for decades.
The president gets to appoint Supreme Court Nominees the Senate confirms them. I think the congress should have voted down Obama's pick but it is what it is. The president doesnt get to choose who he wants event if that president happens to be black and/or a democrat.

So you admit that the Republicans flagrantly violated the Constitution for political gain. And now you expect them not to in the future?

Damn you are dumb. Glad TRUMP! could put together a campaign as witless and mean spirited as you are.

Yes, violating the Constitution was necessary to save the Constitution. Yeah, I trust them. Suuuuure I do.
I do not think he violated the constitution. I do think the should have had the hearing and shot him down. That would have been the best way. I think they did it as an insurance policy in case Clinton won.

Well why should you stop being wrong now? Of course they violated it. Ignoring that does not change the fact that they did. Or are you like your idiot buddy @NLXSK1 who believes that stonewalling SCOTUS appointments is part of the "checks and balances" built into his 'beloved' Constitution?

You don't have to answer. I know the answer already.

They were within their power to refuse to confirm or deny Obama's appointment.

You are the one declaring they violated the constitution which they clearly did not.

Not sure why you are linking that one to Trump.

Looks like nobody here has talked about the actual issue.

I'll break it down.

Cuba is a communist state, everything is controlled by the state, govt. So you have the dissidents that leave Cuba and are accepted as regugees in the US, these are some of the most pro-capitalism people on earth.

When the news talks about 'latino voters' they think a Nicaraguan is the same as a Mexican is the same as a Cuban is the same as a Peruvian... its not the same at all.

A Cuban that defected to the US is more like a average joe from the south, conservative, very christian and very traditional. They are just better educated than the average American. I am just statig facts here people - they dont care about immigration because they get refugee status and help from the govt to stay as soon as they land in the US. So immigration reform isnt a priority, what is is making sure where they live is 100% capitalist and theyll vote that way...

Since these Cub are likely to be republican - this is a big black middle finger to Cubans. Now they HAVE to think about how their brothers, cousins can make it to theUS, theyll need to jump he same hoops and hey'll need to take immigration reform into account when casting ballots.

So you don't see the problem if Congress just decides not to act and lets the number of Supreme Court Justices dwindle to zero? You said that the founding fathers anticipated this and put the words "advise and consent" in the Constitution but did not really mean they had to do anything. Can you understand why we don't respect you?

You are slow and dimwitted. That would be fine if it were not for the fact that you are also a mean-spirited, small-minded partisan who has no respect for this country.

TRUMP! loudly supported this decision and is a Republican. Whereas you are a small creature who lives in the dark and has a poorly developed brain.

They clearly did violate the Constitution. Your unwillingness to admit it shows that you will support these assholes regardless of what they do.

So you are a constitutional scholar now? ROFLMAO!!!

Congress is going to appoint at least one if not quite a few Supreme Court Justices this session. Conservative ones that you wont like. I am sure you would be in favor of congress blocking Trumps picks but you have always been hypocritical that way....

I do want to personally thank Harry Reid for being short sighted enough to take the legs out from under the Democrats regarding the presidential appointments.... What a smart guy!!

No need to be but, yes, I am. The Constitution was written in fairly plain language. Of course that won't stop people from twisting the language for their own gain. Just admit it.

Also, Congress doesn't appoint Justices, dimwit.

Yea i think the problem with the policy is it mostly kept the Cuban population in Miami. This hindered integration for a long time. Now it is like a little free Cuba in South Miami and I have friends there that think the refugees bring crime and less jobs. I think the government should have spread them out throughout the U,S, it would have allowed for better integration.
Why would Cuban immigrants want to live somewhere other than Miami?

Their relatives are there.

Exactly thats the problem you see the same thing in Europe with the Muslim immigrants. The isolate themselves in certain areas and do not integrate and have no plans to. I grew up in Miami. There are areas where there is no English anywhere. It is like Cuba moved to the US. That is not smart immigration it does not promote inclusion. Fortunate for us they are mostly Catholic and shave our value system.

Waitaminit. @NLXSK1 , did you just call me a hypocrite for potentially opposing an appointment? When the Republicans would not even grant a legal appointee a hearing?

You are not bright.
I called you a hypocrite because you had no problem with Obama going around congress in violation of the constitution when it was things you supported. That is the definition of hypocritical.

But hey, you are just twisting the constitution - your words - to your definition.... Oh wait, isnt that hypocritical too?? LOL!!!

Actually I disagree with you... As would the founders.

Obama was well within his rights. trump will be doing the same thing and you will defend it like the slavish lap-dog that you are.
