How much Par watt per square foot do you guys recommend ?

How can I find out the par watt of my build, if there's a formula, what is it?

What is the ideal distance from the LED lamp to canopy?

How can I tell the efficiency of a led cob chip at a certain intensity?

What's a good place to shop for chips and drivers for canadian customers?

Are passive heatsinks worth it? ( I heard they were very expensive)

What is the average yield per watt or par watt? I know that many variables can interfere with yield but I just want a reference.

Can you use a large fan to cool your fixture instead of many small computer fans?

I know that your driver cannot have less voltage then what your chip needs, but can it have more?
Ex: 100V driver for 2x 45V chips
So 10 extra volts

Do you need to mix colors or can you use only one color? Ex: 3500

Will try answer a few of your questions. Was hoping someone who could answer everything would chime in.

you can use all 3500k it offers a good all round spectrum but the other colours also do to.

A driver can and should have more Voltage than required.

You can use a fan to blow across fixture but not recommended if your fixture is active cooled.

Not sure on average yield per power watt but 1.4gpw is common, more in some cases although its not as simple as that.

Passive heatsinks are worth it and they are not expensive.

People use 35 power watts - 50 power watts per square foot, not sure on the par watts.

That's about all I can answer, I'm Not from your part of the world so you will have to have a google to find Candian suppliers, I don't know if you pay tax importing from USA but may be worth it since they do have very good prices.
