In in another room, even in the other side of the house, your gonna get seeds.
Since you asked about things learned along the way, I learned I prefer to keep it simple. I've tried the co2 thing, had a sensor fail while I was away for a day and it dumped my tank, killing my whole flowering chamber of filled to the brim 4x4 and part of my veg room that was behind a closed door.
Leave them alone as much as you can
Dish soap is better than expensive sprays
Wind makes for smaller frosty dense buds, same with low humidity in flower. High humidity and low air movement makes big buds but I don't like mildew risks involved, and I like marbles that thunk on the table and only take one to get ya good.
Hydro yields well, if you get it right, but lots of risks, soil is reliable.
Generally speaking the answer is more light, unless it's less light. (Cloudy days)
Expensive nutrients spent money on marketing, don't be surprised when they are hyped up and everyone is excited about them, but then you get average results
Buy some kiddie pools or trash cans to store your used soil, you'll want to start reusing it and adding coco coir to it. You may be able to find bags or worm castings and bat guano on Craigslist. I used a whole bottle of Alaska brand liquid fish on a kiddie pool of spent dirt, a 5 gal bucket of guano, and about 10 lbs worm castings. Let it sit about 6 months turning it over when I was bored and had around $1000 worth of dirt. Honestly, at $13 per 1.5 cu foot bag of dirt they are raping us.
