When you're talking about some numbers percentage is a poor choice to compare.

If the fat girl was losing weight, and she lost 10 pounds, and a not so fat girl lost 5, proportional to her body weight the thick girl lost more. Made more progress to her goal.

The 300 pound girl can still say she lost twice as much. But hell she has barely made progress toward her goal.

His numbers were wrong. His point was accurate. Deal with it.

Please listen. He was 540% wrong.

When dealing with numbers, percentages are the only way to be accurate. If he was off by 5% that wouldn't be a big issue. He was off by 540% (that's 5.4 times larger than the actual number).

I was giving you an example you could understand. He was calling a 200 lb person 1080 lbs. You think that is a justifiable mistake? As president of the United States?

If Trump does something to reduce the number of black deaths in this country then I think that is more important that people talking about shit...

Did you know that murders are up 56% from last year in Chicago? The place is out of control. I am sure you are going to run off and tell me it was only 55.5% or some bullshit and demand I apologize rather than say... "DAMN, that is a problem. What can we do to change this???"

I know you are just here to troll and feel better about yourself in a place where you can viciously attack people anonymously. But if you were here to advance the conversation maybe you would try to collaborate rather than just cause shit.

I didn't viscously attack anyone here. I tried to explain math and percentages to a member, as I would to a small child that didn't understand something.
And I pointed out the inaccuracy of a tweet by someone running for president. That was very inaccurate. I might also think that President is going to be the worst and most corrupt president in history. But that is only my opinion on the matter and you don't have to agree with me. But in a discussion forum on politics, you might have to read it if you choose to do so.

The scale you're using overblows it. If he said it was 2% of blacks were killed by whites, when in reality it was 10%, yes he was wrong by a factor of 5.

I forget the exact numbers, but even though he was off by such a large percentage, the point still stands.

Out of the several categories he provided statistics for, most of what he listed was close to the "accurate" numbers.

Measuring it the way you are is a false dichotomy.

There was one point he was 400% wrong on, and two points he was 540% wrong on. Not even talking about the one where he said "blacks killed by police is 1%". It's hard to address that falsehood properly but if you read the article they speak to that number being vastly incorrect.
Did you read the link, they explain it better than I could.
My point is he tweeted a completely false report. And showed no remource for doing so or any attempt to correct himself. I feel that is wrong.
