I wish I had some blue[-white] in my flower tent just for my human eyes, but I suspect it'd help a bunch with stretch as well.

I still have a 'royal blue' cheap cn cob I need to play around with. I've read they are mostly worthless for growing on there own, but as supplement may be advantageous.

I feel as far as flowering , the addition of " blue " is a given. Some growers prefer using their MH ( metal Halide ) instead of HPS. With good results. Being that the purest light
( sunlight ) has such a wide spectrum of colors including IR and UV. It made more sense to build a mixed light instead of a BLOOM ONLY setup. With a dedicated ( white light ) 6400-5000k i could introduce early young growth to a MORE blue color with 3000k stepped down ( dimmer ) then when changing cycles increase the 3000k up.

I think this would allow me to " run different light stages " from early to bloom.
I believe a setup with ( 3000-3500 ) - ( 4000k neutral ) - and ( 5000k up ) would really cover a wide field. Maybe like a 6 ) 3000k / 2 ) 4000k / 2) 5000k or Bridgelux 5700k
build would be nice. Throw in a couple of UV ( switchable ) LEDS for giggles.

I've now got a Space Cheese well into flower (day 50) in this tent (2x2x3' tent, 4x CXB3590 @ 1400ma-dimmed). Not a perfect start to flower again, but happy with the tric production, and shes starting to fatten up. Next run will be start to finish in the tent so I can avoid transition woes.



Another SC at week 3 flower in a Vero 18 tote. This is running (2) 3500k and (2) 5000k on a 700ma MW and dimmed down. Applied a bit more LST to pull a few of the tall branches down a bit more, but I'm going to have some height issues. I'm convinced I saw some pistil degredation/burn? due to distance to les. I'll have to come up with a spacer of sorts I think.

nice build. exhaust should handle any heat made from the heatsinks and the fans. I would be using at least a 4" inline fan, 165 cfm and scrubber for that tent, ensure exhaust is outside of tent intake or you short circuit the air and get hot air right back again, making even hotter. peace.

I've been getting by with the 120mm PC fan (under driven), but I also have the lights dimmed down a ways, which seems more of a requirement for distance to canopy than for heat management. However, I am considering an adjustable 6" Hyper Fan due to its efficiency at low power, yet ability to move 315 cfm when I need to get scrubbin.

I'm in a large open space w/o exposure to outside light/sun, so it stays cool, I duct heat well away from the tent into a corner of the room. I have a lot of hygros around to keep track of intake, exhaust, tent cealing, heatsink, outside tent floor and cealing. Peak temps at canopy in the tent are within 2-4*F of outside room temps, I was happy with that for now. Making due with what I have available to me, like we all do. :)

Follow up, update. Some big changes happened. Cut down all the plants, tore down the grows. But, I wanted to give a follow up and info on one of my best plants/harvests to date..

Strain: Space Cheese (source: clone)
Tent: 2x2x3', 4 sqft
Light: 4x CXB3590 on a 185-1400b (under driven to ~80-100w throughout flower)
Pot: 7g smart pot rolled over to ~5gal(?)
Soil: Mostly FFHF + perlite + spm + dolo lime
Nute/Supp: Recharge, Fish & Kelp, Silica, Fox Farm Grow/Bloom/Micro nutes
Foliar: Neem oil, Silica, Kelp

Day 50


Day 64



Flowered for 66 days.
8 day dry, then a dry trim.
Weight - 96.7 grams/3.411 oz (~1g/w-not great, but I can improve, the COB light and strain are keepers) Very little larf/trim (but very resinous), I didn't weigh what went to oil, but probably 2-4g.

The dry and cure went great; smell and flavor is some of my best yet. Very happy with the density and size of nugs as well.

I had to cut my space tote plant at day 37. The last pics I have it at day 35 were looking quite good. I think it was going to be a good one.. All material was dried and sent to oil.

Light: 4x Vero 18 on a 120-700b (under driven; 35-65w?, capable of ~80w)
Pot: 2g smart pot

So, grow wise, thats it. I haven't been growing since, and I miss it, and need it back. I'm in a new space, less than I had to work with before with wild temp swings.. But, I am in the process (mostly done) of rewiring both lamps with 300v 18g hook up wire to replace the 12v speaker wire I was using...yep, getting safer. :P The B3590 light is complete, and was easy peasy with its push-in connectors. The V18 lamp is mostly soldered together, I need to get the soldering iron out and pull some wires apart, and get the new wire soldered in.

I'll be doing some dry run testing to see how temps are. Likely will have to add heat, so I'm thinking a heating mat and thermostat for sure. Possibly building something to keep heat from the light/heatsinks inside the tote better.. Like converting to 105mm pin sinks and hanging them inside, would lose a bit of clearance, but, I can manage, maybe design a spacer of some sort. We'll see. There is hope, but, It'll be a battle with the cold in winter, and with heat in summer...maybe source some more foam board insulation.
Deal with the space you have, right... Hope to be back in 2017 sometime.

Loving the look of your buds, and yielding 100 grams in such a small tent isn't bad at all. I bet you'll be yielding consistently over 1.5g/w with a denser canopy as you dial in... Who knows? maybe even more.

at ~6v they are mostly silent. at 12v you can hear them, but, nothing that would bother me. But, I live with case/cpu/video fan noise a lot. your other fans are likely louder. the 120mm exhaust fan i ran in the tent was louder. my PCs case and cpu fans are louder.

6v should be enough for winter heat

I have considered it, but I think w/o more vertical space, that fan cooled is important in my situation. If I was in a 5'+ space, passive for sure.

I do want to convert/try some 105 or 120mm pin sinks though. So many places out of stock.. Was shopping MechaTronix sinks last night. I liked what robin was offering.
