lol last laugh? how much is your light bill and how much is your operation costing you? if you think I'm trying to produce pounds you're very wrong I'm growing enough for me and my grandma that has cancer and wants to make her edibles occasionally for side effects and relief.
I'm 19 yrs old I don't have thousands of dollars for equipment and/or a big room to produce pounds I'm not looking to make profit either.
most of y'all are here for the money I'm here for the experience and to help people.

30 bucks a month per light at most, and since it's winter time and it already was -9F here, they also help to heat my house ,so it reduces my heating bill.

Dude my 600watt hps is barely ten pounds sterling a week, some us growers have much cheaper electricity than me as well, cost is like last on my list and a gram is ten pounds sterling everywhere.

i had originally about 120$ in op.
now Christmas came and Im slowly building my op up as I can. all said and done I'll have about 250-300$ invested. a ounce here of good costs 200$ and ounce of great cost 280-320$.

Not much , i grow organically and recycle my soil so honestly maybe at most 100$ to grow 6 huge plants that yield at least 3 pounds, so from about 300$ (energy included) i can get about 3 pounds of buds, top quality organic and not have to go to the dispensary and smoke their pesticide laced buds.

Not to mention i get a shitload of free samples, i just got a 100$ bottle of Mammoth P for free because they want me to test it for them, just gotta know how to work the game :) I also got a huge amount of aptus nutes for free, and gh 3 part , twice , and got a bunch of free mad farmer nutes, i got lots of stuff :)

When you can grow good people want you to run their shit, you have no idea how many people have asked me to test seeds for them.

I'm not worried about electricity a electricity bill it's paying for all the equipment and nutrients some of us aren't as fortunate as others unfortunately it's how it is.
I'm funding this my self from part time income still paying 10-15$ a gram. I don't understand what you're trying to get at..

You said you saved money with leds but i dont see where as running a 600watt hps is like dirt cheap, i fail to find much cheaper for the yeild...

im happy that you're blessed.
I'm in a spot where you'll go to jail for a gram and spend prison time for cultivation. it ain't so easy for all of us. Some of you legals forget how much it's costs in other places not to mention the risks.
I knew that coming in to this lifestyle and I won't stop helping my family.
I've learned everything on my own I never even grew a solid thing before and I started of with Dwc not soil. Now every day I get on here to learn, everything makes more and more sense each day.
The point is I'm working with what I got and learning as I go No other options.

I said you can save money, they are more efficient, it's a fact.
everything has pros and cons.

This guy is a prime example of not having all the facts before spouting off. In his mind it is his way are dont grow at all. He has been this way ever since he joined the forum. A pound per 4 foot 8 bulb T-5 is very doable.

No offense but you said cobs are the best and you don't have a ton of money to grow pounds. Hps is much cheaper then cobs up front. If you factor in money saved on heat in winter as alot of people vent the heat into other parts of there house I would say they aren't to far off in cost. Also your 19 and you don't have a lot of experience yet so it's hard to take your advice considering there are tons of people that have been growing since you were born on here. You also seem to think most people on here grow for money which I believe is far from the truth. I wish you nothing but the best in your growing endeavor but you are preaching without first hand experience. Gl

none taken! I have my own opinion, with that being said cobs are trending now as being top notch light source if you can afford them I never recommend them to the guy, and I won't be running cobs anytime soon because of my own budget.
I only mentioned the basic pros and cons for cobs/led/hps!
my winter is probably very different from yours here the lowest it'll get is 30 degrees. maybe 2-4 times each season.
average winter temp is 70,recirculating heat from hps can be benifical for some people.
I'm young but I do a lot of research and go through a lot of grow journals. I get real results/info from grow history not light company's promises. And then base that off claimed specs of the lights.
