Hey everyone!

Just curious what you all like to do with your scraps when you are done with the plant....

for example, do you dry all your fan leaves and powder them for a soil amendment, or do you put them in your compost (worms, thermo compost) to be broken down?

today while i was chopping up the bigger stalks into <1" pieces I was pondering putting them in the soil mix for extra aeration and carbon source.... or how about saving the chopped up pieces for a mulch on top of the soil????

hope everyone is well, and happy holidays!

i dunno it's not dry yet! i'm guessing somewhere around 4 or 5, something like that. it was sharing a 600hps with 3 other plants so that yield is about right. it was a little sickly from the tobacco mosaic virus. ive read that it can decrease yields, and i noticed some funny things going on in the last few days, leaves just dying unexpectedly around the buds. i had a strain from the same guy i got this from, about a year ago or so, that had the same virus and did the same exact things/symptoms, only I didn't know what it was then. He's a heavy tobacco smoker so I think either he's rolling cigs and touching his plants after handling tobacco, or somehow they are getting the virus from him smoking around them. Either way, looking forward to the smoke of this one. It's been a year or so since i've run a diesel so i'm looking forward to it :)

Oh yeah def Wasnt throwing any of it Out lol.
I think i will start using stems for Mulch. My leaves went into the compost this time, but next time I may actually dry and powder them, and use them as a soil ammendment. I assume greener leaves be better for soil ammendment than faded ones.

Fan leaves are clipped and chopped up into smaller pieced and thrown into my compost bin.
Sugar leaves and airy lower buds get frozen fresh then into ice water for bubble hash making .... after that the scraps go in my compost bin
Anything i run butane or ethanol through it to extract the cannabis oil will ultimately go into my compost bin.
Later, i will use that compost for my garden to feed my tomatoes peppers and whT have ya .... also i plan on growin in soil again very very soon and i want to amended my soil with the very compost i made from previous runs and my kitchen scraps

absolute BEST source for a leaf compost
the way I figure, is over millions and millions of years, the cannabis plant, being an annual plant, is designed to use it's own detritus and the prior yrs fallen vegetative material.

Think of an in-touched forest, in the Himalayans where wild indica grows and dies allllll on it's own, with no added nutrients. Year after year, for thousands if not millions of yrs.

In my head ( a THC soaked brain, no less) the plant's PERFECT nutrients would be a simple compost made with as much cannabis material as possible.

Plus mountain dew, of course. :dunce::evil::dunce:

I dry my fan leaves and make tea with them as well as some of the stock. Once the tea is done, then into the compost bucket with it!!!

Juice them. Eat them. Worm bin. Compost.

My worms love it. Oh and they are going crazy over half rotted hay and soil mix.
