Jarring too early - can someone explain

I've done a lot of reading on here and had some real good advice from members, so thanks to start.

One question i have that cant seem to find.....if you jar your buds too early, what are the likely issues (not including mould)? My logic tells me that if your jars are at 70% for a week lets say, and youre now slowly moving towards that 65% zone you should be able to enter the cure zone as and when you like. However i do wonder, will you be left with nasty chlorophil buds regardless, or will the nastyness evaporate off when you do enter the 'cure zone'?

A lot of conflicting opinions about harvest too early vs. harvest too late. thanks in advance

I wouldn't leave a 70% RH jar closed for a week. If a closed jar goes higher than 75% overnight I will keep that jar open until it reads 65% and keep doing that until it stays stable around 67% after a full day of leaving it closed in the dark. from there I just do a 5-10 min burp everyday until it starts to hover between 63-65% and then I'll keep em closed for 2 or 3 days at a time before burping. Once they hit 62% I deem them stable enough to stay in the jar given I open it every month or so to let it breath. 58-60% and you can leave it for long term storage.

Sorry to ramble, I noticed I didn't get to the root of your question...

So long as you don't get mold they will be fine. The slower the better. Risking mold is a huge and expensive mistake though so you want to give yourself a decent margin of error. You never know when mold will strike at a higher RH and if you have any mold spores in your house then the higher the RH the riskier you're being.

Makes sense. i think i jarred too earlu and although curing for 2 weeks, the smells not really coming through. when you crack open a nug it smells nice inside but not on the outsides.

Humiduty is 66-67% when shut for 24hrs and i burp for 2-3hrs a night and that takes it to 60-64%.

Holefully im just being impatient / paranoid!

Get Boveda paks (62%) to safely cure (and store) once they've dried

I start my cure wetter than most people ....but it also means being extra vigilant and more work in the beginning for sure ......

I've tried the boveda packs and while they do keep it at 62% fairly well, I felt like it took away some of the smell. Not enough to call them garbage but I'm confident enough in my curing that I stopped using them.
