The homeless/zombie crisis.

There was this dude that had a sign that read "it's hard out here for a pimp. Help a brother out" I had to pull over and help him out. I gave him a 40, a half smoked joint, and a few bucks for food. Because you know after smoking some weed and drinking some beer you're gonna be hungry.

There is also this old lady that stands at my local corner store, I won't give her anything because I've seen her wired as fuck and I don't like hard drugs(yes, I know, it's my beliefs) but I'm not gonna help you pay for meth.

If I could've taken that pipe out of his hands or that shit out of his car, my brother wouldn't be in prison right now. Till 2020 and its already been 3 years at that. Now my nephew is with out a father for another 3-4 years and at a time when a young man needs his dad. He's a teen right now and there are some things he's going through. I do what I can for him, but I can never replace his dad:(

idk why I've been so open on here lately. forgive me for being a whinny lil bitch. but that last paragraph kinda got me in the feels hard core... I guess because its December and Christmas is right around the corner and I wish I could do more. But i have a good harvest coming up and I will make sure to take care of all of my people.

I hope everyone does the same and find it in their hearts to have a lil compassion for the less fortunate. Things aren't always so cut and dry, shit happens and folks are left out in the cold.

They are people ..dont be such an insensitive prick alienwidow
They are biohazards.
It's easy to be an idealist if you don't have to be around the mess they create. I personally witnessed what they did to the environment when they started camping by the railroad tracks. They turned a pristine outdoor wonderland into a stinky, trash-filled disaster -- complete with random hypodermic needles strewn about.
I have zero sympathy for these "people".

You live in a nice house and have done good for yourself, but shit happens man. Most of them aren't homeless by choice. Jesus dickhole gain some perspective man.

Not many homeless up here but I did open my doors to one from Madison. He had an ad on Craigslist saying he'd work for room and board. Found out he was addicted to fentynal, he left when I refused to buy him some and he robbed a cabin down the road. I'm a bit more hesitant now but I still help.

I know what I have seen.
You delusional idiots think you are doing society a favor by embracing biohazards???
Look around. Open your eyes.
I do not need your approval. Get off your ass and go visit an abandoned homeless camp. Maybe you'll change your tune -- especially if it's close to *your* neighborhood...

I'm not saying that some of them arent pieces of shit, but some arent there by choice. Has nothing bad ever happened to you? Do you really think that if they had a choice to do better they wouldn't jump on the opportunity? They are all homeless, worthless fucks because they just don't give a fuck?

I'm not gonna go broke helping them out, but have a little compassion man. Maybe it's you that should sit a talk with just one of them and see if your opinions don't change.

I do, regularly. We donate and sometimes volunteer at The Hope Center and various churches.

There are several local encampments within a few miles of my house. I also visit these on the regular.

"Biohazards", eh? Huh.....

You know...I don't really believe that.

When I graduated from HS in 1972, I could have worked at 17 different places right out of school. 6 union steel mills, a union foundry, 2 coal companies, the RR, a RR car company, a half dozen different construction companies, plus all the minimum wage jobs of which there were many.

There were no homeless people here because everybody wanted a job (and the life that comes with it) and the jobs were there.

I think virtually every homeless person in Portland would take those 1972 jobs if they were available today, as opposed to collecting a gov't. check or just hanging in the streets.

Those were good paying jobs with benefits and retirement plans back then, abundant jobs, they hired every single year.

Those people don't have the opportunties I had, that's the simple difference.

Anybody would take a good job over a handout.

Maybe if the 1% weren't so greedy and maybe if the 99% were more patriotic and willing to spend a little more on American made products...maybe we wouldn't be in this mess today. Maybe.
My first job after getting out of jail and getting married was for around $1.60 an hour in 1969. I was able to rent a house and buy food. I had to beg a ride to work but other than that I still had 10 bucks left over for a half an oz. Now I'm seeing my grandkids work two jobs with no bennefits while taking hand outs from their parents. After a couple of years I was promoted to supervisor (cause I fucking paid attention) and was making $150 a week!! I even paid up my SS up one year so things have changed and who do we blame??
