I have had to deal with hermie a time or two sometimes nature finds a way ,,Not a big deal,,I use hemostats and check the plant carefully for male bananas you will find them on new nodes or even up in the bud,,do not despair pull them off and ,,keep and eye on your other plants as well when you find a seed use the hemo's pull them off,,I have had to do this a time or two ,The plant is single minded when it wants to do something,,it wants to veg ,or flower,,once in flower they want to make big buds or lots of seeds,,If you have plants get pollinated do not chop your plants down you have done far to much work see them threw till the end,,If you keep the green seeds picked and keep them bananas off,,You will continue to get bigger buds,,pulling the seeds will give the plant no choice but to put it's growth into the buds ,,I have a Sour Diesel in my room right now that went hermie have had to pull maybe 20 seeds I caught it early and have tried to stay on top only found a few seeds on bottom of hermie plant and 2 others in my room second picture is my hermie ,it has not slowed me any never does,,Just take your time and remove anything you are suspect of,,be my advice but every man has to do what suits him,,wait for those trics to be right

I would give this another few weeks but they are your plants & it's a tough call either way. I was looking through your pics and don't see any herms but just pull them off if there are any. They take about 10 days to grow so if you find & pull them off and they come back 10 days later you know you got a light leak. That's really important IMO: getting rid of the conditions for hermies to grow in the first place so you don't have this problem again down the road. Plus picking too early sucks it's always better to wait. Either way 2 days in the dark won't help much if at all nor will it turn them amber; you've got weeks to go before that happens; lotsa white pistils still developing.

But I don't want amber trics I just checked a few min ago and 100% of trics are cloudy and very few new white pistols have grown out. I may give it a few more days then darkness but no way a few more weeks in almost a week 8 for indica strain.I think its indica at least.

From the books n research my buds can be pulled any day now but I don't want a couch lock or high cbd affect which is why I don't want amber trics or brown

I start chopping mine when they are 50/50, clear/cloudy and very few white hairs. You could take yours now no problem and it will be at it's THC peak without amber.

Taste great but then I take 3 - 4 weeks getting it dry enough to be able to put in jars still damp and burp for a month until it's cured enough for a real smooth smoke. Trichs age after cropping too so they don't need to stay under the lights hogging up space and power.

My sativia strains give me an up buz blue dream makes me happy almost euphoric . Indicas have a rep for being sleeping med. But I think you have the right concept on when to harvest for your desired effect .

May I subjest checking in harvest and cure. I've read a lot of interesting stuff there.

SO they are over 65-70% humidity for over 3-4 weeks drying?

I trim my colas as they come off the plant. I only take as much as I can do in an hour or so as the leaves start going limp and get stickier if they are off the plant longer than that. I start at the bottom of each cola snipping out any sugar leaves and clipping out buds so none are bigger than say an inch in diameter. Then they go into small paper boxes lined with wax paper. Both the wax paper and the boxes get perforated with random holes. I loosely fold the wax paper and stab it repeatedly with the blades closed to punch a bunch of holes quickly. The boxes get the same treatment on the front, back and the top but not the ends as it will dry too fast at the ends as they aren't covered by the wax paper.

A little sticky note is stuck on each with the date, strain, tare wt. of the box with the paper and note and the gross wt. once filled with about 100g of fresh bud. The boxes are opened and the buds loosened and aired twice/day for the first few days then once a day going forward. To minimize handling I just pull up one end of the paper to flip the buds and jiggle it around to bust up the clumps and let the buds air out a bit. I also keep the boxes in a cool place like my basement where the temps can get down almost to freezing in the winter. (Forecast to be -27C next Tuesday. :( )

I have on occasion had one go moldy so that gets spread out somewhere to dry quickly and ends up in the oil pile for later processing and the box and paper go in the burning barrel.

I saved the boxes that are used to hold cigarette tubes but we don't do that anymore so eventually I'll run out but the ones they make to hold collector cards should work OK tho I think the thick cardboard they make them from will pull the moisture out of the buds faster at first. The boxes I'm using are coated with clay or whatever is used for printed paper and much thinner.

I set a bunch of them on top of the gas pipe that runs thru the basement near the low ceiling and when they get to the point where they are only losing about a gram per day of weight they are ready to put in jars for burping. I use the plastic cans that tobacco comes in for that as they have very smooth sides so if the buds clump up the whole mass will slide out easy onto a piece of parchment paper and easily break up with little handling. They can air for a bit then back into the jar for further curing. The paper bag under the boxes has sugar trim in it and is dry in about two weeks.

BudBox02.JPG

This is a fussy process but allows the buds to dry very slowly and evenly. When you hang the buds and the outer bud surface dries while the inner part is still wet the parts that dry never cure properly even tho they will re-hydrate once put into jars. The breakdown of chlorophyll is a biological process and stops once the material is dry and doesn't restart when re-hydrated so it is harsher smoking. My buddy buys street pot that harshes my throat out bad and we've tried wetting it then drying it slow and it still smokes like crap. :)

As I'm planning to grow larger quantities I'm going to have to come up with a higher production model of doing this.
