I wanted so very much to get a .475 or .480. That bore diameter is perfect for turning .45 cases into "hollow point wadcutters". I love bullshit ballistics.
My 460 is pretty cool bro. Shoots 45 long and casull also. I don't like doing that because of the residue those shorter rounds leave, so I reload the 460 casings a little light if we 're gonna go pump some rounds out.

I have a Casull with the .45LC cylinder. Never fired it. Had molds to throw a 505-grain full wadcutter (.452 dia using wheelweights) for a "quiet" big game load. I left the bullet molds behind in the divorce. And the dies. I am an idiot.

Have you shot at the range in Tracy before? You were talking about turning heads when at a range the other day. That 460 fuckin pounds!

No, but there was a range near Livermore I used on occasion while I lived in the Bay. The one I went to usually was just over the ridge on Hwy 35 above Saratoga. THAT is where I shut the whole range up with the Noisy Cricket pushing 405-grainers north of 1600fps. Yup, I had a chronograph ...

One day a guy showed up with a .475 Nitro Express double. Shortish barrels. Hoooo doggies, when he touched the trigger on that thing, suddenly it was pointed up and sideways! I'm OK with heavy recoil in a handgun, but shoulder weapons ... (winces, declines)

I used to have a Ruger #1 in 45-70, sold it when I needed the dinero. Hated to let it go. It kicked like a mule; I hate to think what the same caliber Contender feels like
Damn, I once owned a Ruger #3 in 45-70. I loved the simplicity of the single-shot falling block style.

I hated the kick of the steel butt plate upon firing a 300-grain bullet of high velocity.

I got a few talkings-to as well lol. But it was a place I could fire my crazy handguns at full tilt boogie. Got the full 1900 fps out of a .357 shooting 158-grainers. It was no ordinary gun ... a five-hole Freedom Arms. Built for just that sort of Jimmy Neutron bullshit.

That's another gun i wanted but couldn't afford back in the day. A freedom arms revolver in the 45 casull. Those things are tight!

I got a 3 month ban from Angeles Shooting Range for going rapid fire with my M1-A back in '76. Just wanted to see if I still had it ;)

I have three guns by them. The 353 (now sold as the Model 83) in .357, 7 1/2 inches, field grade. The two-cylinder Casull, premier grade. A Model 97 in .357, premier grade. 5 1/2 inches on that one and an outstanding carry gun. If I licensed up, it would be that Freedom, my little S&W "Mountain Gun", and the .45 Colt. I simply love the M1911 design.

I wanted one of their ridiculously, magnificently overbuilt .22s on the "big" (model 83) frame. Never did that while I could afford it. Now .22 fodder is hard to find in CA.

Crazy about the 22 isn't it?
I like the 1911 also.
