Hello everyone I'll keep it brief I'm running three dwc buckets in a grow tent under 600w mh
One Pineapple Express
One c99
One purple haze auto

Long story short I was graudly introducing the plants to the light and it was the second day under the full lights and I woke up to this it was Realy dry while the other rapid rooters stayed moist. From the start this plants rapid rooter got dryer then the other so this morning I took it out of direct light dug it up noticed one root was dry and dead but the rest were strong and with I replanted it deeper this time and fed it

Also I put before and after pic of the same plant

Those are grow stones made from recycled glass (says right on the bag). I use bags of this stuff.

So, a 600w MH will fry a clone let alone a seedling. Plants at that stage will thrive under a small
13w CFL or LED 65w equivalent (the kind you get at your big box store). T5s are almost too much but work too.

Save the 600w till the leaves are well developed and grow them under a low power light source till
the leaves cover most of the pot or till they are several nodes high. then, if your light is dimmabte,
place it as high as you can in your tent and bring it down gradually (days at a time). Acclimating a plant
to high intensity requires it to have a well established root system as well as being mature enough to trigger
its self defense mechanisms to create a thicker leaf cuticle to deal with the intensity.

Hope this helps.
Cheers!

It clearly says SOIL LOL
It also says " use it with coco coir, compost or whatever"

So, actually it can be used in both soil AND hydro. It is an excellent wicking substrate (capillary action) which is great
for hydro and very porous which gives it a good moisture retaining properties with great drainage.

I use it in both my soil and RDWC setups. Stuff is really good at what it was made to do. The best wicking
properties out of several different substrates I have tried. Between Hygromite, Hydroton, Perlite, and
Grow Stones, the Grow Stones worked best for my situation.

Really??? Im talking about the seedling and light part. Every single seed I sprout gets shoved under a 400 watt MH every single time. Too much light? Maybe if you layed the plant on the bulb itself lol. I dont buy into the "too much" light thing. Of course there are always some exceptions.

With all due respect, homie, I prefer something like a T8 that young. He can get a 2 bulb T8 fixture at Wal Mart for $10.97 and two K6500 bulbs for about $8. Lowes has a better fixture for about $18. T5 is fine too but T8s are dirt cheap and not that much weaker than a T5.

Once they are big enough for cups using say using coco or soil then MH at 7 to 8 feet away can work. He might have also encountered a heat issue from that light.

Each their own my guy... I treat them hard and and make them do their thing quick. I have 0% patients and even less time to baby a plant, mother nature is brutal and direct and so am I ,all growing styles are different thats why I love this place. You may be very well correct about the bulb and heat issues though! Just because I personlly have never had a "bulb heat issue" I need to remember that others arent as awesome er I mean lucky as me. !!!!!

I am getting regular Bodhi seeds, and might get some males unfortunately but want to keep the males for breeding. Could some T8s fullfil full grown males? Could that work out?
