This clown will not get the CON leadership and regardless of who does, slimy Steve has destroyed the CON party brand. I could never whore myself to any political party...especially the CONs. They have "Anti-Pot" slogans as a rallying cry.
Nope. Current polling:
LPC - 46.9
CPC - 28.1
NDP - 13.4
Green - 5.9
Bloc - 4.4
Stephen Harper will be regarded as a folk hero for conservatives in this country for decades to come, regardless of whether he deserves it or not. He did not 'destroy the Conservative brand', he created it by merging the PC's with Reform (with some help from Peter MacKay selling out the PC's after he pledged not to, but that's another story). Jason Kenney's leadership bid in Alberta, if successful will also spell the end of the PC's there, and will likely follow much the same path.
Vote splitting could easily give the CPC another shot at government, and with Trudeau backpedaling on electoral reform it could very well be another majority. The Senate backed down on assisted dying, so even with conservative senators losing their majority, there's no guarantee a Leitch government won't be successful in repealing legalization (if it happens). Interestingly enough Marc Emery is now supporting Maxime Bernier (probably the most level headed CPC leadership candidate) due to Trudeau's current questionable decisions on legalization.
You can either stick your head in the sand and pretend everything will magically work out, or educate yourself on political history. Despot demagogues tend to fare better with the first strategy, though.
