Shiny spots with black dots

Hello,

I've noticed this in one of my plants. I harvested her already but some lower leaves seem to have this silvery, shiny, white spots that also have black tiny little dots. I've been searching for bugs but I can't find any, not in the leaves or underside of leaves... not in any part of the plant. So what is this? Does anyone know?

That is bug poop. Possibly a leaf miner. If you have a high power magnifying glass you can probably find larvae moving around on the underside of the leaves.

Really? I've found the same on a few leafs. Thought it was dead spider mites as I treat throughout veg. How evasive is a leaf miner?? Do they lead to worse bugs? How do you treat for them? Thanks!

I'm not sure it is leaf miners, they are a common problem pest for growers and leave the shine and black dots, I think other bugs might do that too. Leaf miners can be difficult because they lay eggs inside the leaf and if you spray you have to repeat until after the eggs hatch and come out of the leaf as larvae. I use soapy water and neem oil for pests. Most pests can be handled, the spider mite is the worst.
I haven't had them since I started using Light warrior to germinate seeds. I think I got them in the past from using cheap peat moss to germinate and they came with the soil.
The smaller the plant in veg the better the chance to eradicate them.

I've been investigating and im almost sure it is thrips:

White silvery spots with black dots. I haven't seen any bugs as I said, but it looks the same. I have leaf miners on my outdoor plants (not weed) and they leave a trail, but this looks like thrips.

Yeh, that's what I thought, the leaf miners leave a trails.

It looks like thrip damage to me. They are tiny and fly if you look at em wrong and cause that damage before you realise whats going on. Probably dont see them because they fly off when you come around .

Thrips are a pain in the ass. Easy enough to kill though. Find an insecticide that contains Spinosad.
It is a substance made by bacteria that is toxic to thrips. Monterey brand is what is available in my area.
